How do I pronounce iru?

Im hearing something like "ta-ruu" and having trouble believing thats correct.

At WWWJDIC ( WWWJDIC: Word Search ) there are audio clips for most dictionary entries.

I've never worked out how to link to specific entries on that site, but if you type (or copy and paste) いる into the search field, then it will take you there. To hear the audio, click on the little blue icon next to the entry.
