Battle Royale 1 & 2

BR1 was cool. Though i prefered the book.
BR2 i've only seen once and it wasn't so great.
I loved versus.
Ring is the only film i've seen that really freaked me out.
And i fell asleep durning ring 2... it was on late at night...

I think Battle Royale is awesome..I started reading the mangas and then I got to watching the movies..of course I thought the first one was completely awesome..and I actually liked the second one, although I know it could have been a lot better..I think the movie moved along too quickly I wish it had seemed longer like the first one...call me emotional, but the second movie made me cry ...I think its sad that after all they went through they still had to keep running...by the way, what's the name of the guy who plays Shuuya...cuz he's soo hott *drools* ..hopefully I'll get the novel soon...is it any good??

I loved Battle Royale I, but Battle Royale II was horrible. My favorite character in I is Takako Chigusa. As you can tell by my avatar I don't have a favorite character in II. The characters in II were so under developed. The storyline made no sense. I'm not saying the storyline of I made a lot of sense, but it's understandable and easy to follow. Battle Royale II was just a mesh of explosions.

yeah kiriyama loved the hunt, i went on a website called battleroyalefilm and it says he was shot in the head but in actual fact his necklace was shot, and i dunno how to contact them to get it right..

My favourite was Kiriyama. Maaaaan he rocked, and his creepy song motif always gave me slight chills. Hot psychos = awesome. Interesting how someone young like him can be so ruthless and merciless in killing. And I also liked how he never says a word, so you never know what he is thinking. That kept his enigma well and truly intact, and made him most appealing to me. You just wonder if there is anything MORE than a one-dimensional killing machine.

I also liked Sugimura Hiroki because Sosuke-kun is cute. HAH. And I found his relationship with Kotohiki and Chigusa very interesting. BR-I was great for all the substance you had to dig deeper for, concerning loyalty, friendship, the bridges between generations etc., although even today I still can't comprehend the twisted storyline of a government doing that.

Onto BR-II...well established that it sucked mad balls.

goood i looooove these movies, i own both of them. although the first is quite better than the second but the second one is great too! My favorite character has to be Kiriyama! He so bloody rocked in the film, i loved how he moved and still and made that evil smile..just makes me melt XD

The second one i like too cause they have to be paired up and stuff..brill. Although the main guy was sorta creepy when he looked serious or angry... ^^;

Kiriyama rules and owns the movies! He's there for FUN! imagine that! And he's a specialist in killing - think about the fact that he got no weapon to start with and still managed to collect a huge number later on. WOOOW He's awesome.

i've seen both battle royale and its sequel...and i was very dissapointed in the sequel. I believe the director died during making and his son finished the film...which i think is where the references to afghanistan comes from. the original, well it speaks for itself!

and in reply to the guy who started the topic, there are many great asian movies, and people here will have seen thousands more than me and i could still list a load. i recommend a site called midnighteye.com i think they are mostly if only japanese movies, but there are plenty of sites around. alternatively go onto amazon or something and lookup a film you have seen and see what "customers who bought this also bought..." or "if you like this, try..." they are usually at the bottom of the product page...and of course, 9 times out of 10 there is a user submitted review.

The Kiriyama character in the film is different to the one in the book and the manga. If you get the chance read them, they are available on amazon.

I have to watch BR1 at least once every 3/4 days, i love it and my fav is Nanahara (he's sooo yummy). I also watch BR2 at once a week. BR1 is my fav, it's the origional, but I still think BR2 is awsome
