Why do so many people feel the need to create a myspace account and claim that they are the band? It's especially moronic when more than one person does it for the same band.

You've got me there.
Ain't got a clue!
I think some people just have waaaaay too much time on their hands.

In defence I know that a few of them are real but some people like Gackt I just r e a l l y can't picture having a blog, ha ha.

I think that the fan pages are okay though, if it is stated that it's a fanpage, because it's a good way to spread word about the band and get the bands more fans or at least people to check out the fan myspace pages and hear a song or two. I think it's a good way to promote bands.

But I don't like the fan pages that don't claim to be a fan page....That's just my opinion, although I know that I personally would never have enough time to make a fan page...

Oh of course fan pages are fine, with out fan pages we'd have a limited source of information.
It's the accounts claiming to BE said famous person is what I don't agree with, but what's even worse is the thousands who fall for it, lol.

Oh yes yes, I agree with you on that one. Those are stupid, and people do fall for it. What I also think is funny is that on myspace, even with the ones that clearly state that they are a fan page, people still think that it's the real band. *sigh* Some people... tsk tsk :P

oh yea I remember in the miyavi thread there was a girl claiming to talk to miyavi through myspace:-)

Oh, I so believe her.

Also, some people make eg. LiveJournal or Xanga-accounts and claim to be Jrockers. :D

That's how I found out about Kagrra. Some fanpage added me. ^_^

I only add the pages that clearly state they're fanpages. They even do that with American bands and singers, like Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears. Or the ones I find REALLY sad are the people claiming to be anime/video game characters.

yeah Its so weak when people try to act like someone they are not. like chatting and using another personality for yourself.
It only shows that those who makes that kind of rubish, does not believe not in themself and therefore creates themself a new personality or even takes one from a famous person.

Thats the bad thing about the intenert, you never know if its true or false.

so all in all I agree with you blue ash

I tend not to trust in quite anyone or anything I've seen on the internet, [though I've also made a bunch of very good friends through it] so usually I take all those "jrock-journals" [what a name XD] with laughs. :-)
