Hi to all friendly forumites!
Since I haven't posted here before, I thought I should introduce myself before jumping into the fray.

I'm from Sweden, and I spent an exchange year in Japan 2005-2006, at Kyoto University. Now that I've gotten my Masters (Library and Information Science), I'm taking the chance to go back there! I had a really wonderful time in Japan last time, and I've been regretting that I haven't been able to keep up with my Japanese studies. Losing the language I worked so hard to acquire seems like a shame, so I've signed on with a Japanese language school in Kyoto, where I'll be studying for 20 weeks.

I am terribly excited about going back, but also vaguely apprehensive, because the language school wouldn't organize a pre-college Visa for me unless I waited until April, which simply wasn't an option. So I'm going to be without the Alien Registration Card! Hopefully I won't run into too many problems living as a simple tourist - the school has set me up with an apartment, at least, so that's one worry off my mind.

Anyway! That's what I'm off to do in Japan - my plane leaves on Tuesday, and I've begun to realize that I'm really doing this now. It's a weird sort of thing to do instead of looking for a permanent position now that I've reached the respectable age of 28, but it's what I want to do, and it's not like it will look bad on my resume or anything! Really, it's a dream come true.

Hopefully I will have internet at my new place, so that I can hang out here some more!

Yoroshiku!

Hello Naye! Welcome back to Jref and have a safe trip.

Hello Naye!! Nice to meet you. Take care of yourself.

Go for it!

Better to enjoy it while you can, before a job, marriage, kids, a home, and all those other anchors slow you down. Good luck and enjoy.
