AGH, I'm listening to her right now and my God her remixes drive me up a wall! Some of her music I really like and some of it even has a nice epic feel (example: "Still Alone") but her remixes are going to put me in an early grave. There's good techno and then there's bad techno. And these THINGS are definitly BAD techno. Bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh.

I have listened a little more to her music recently. It's not my type of music, but I really like her voice. (BUT I STILL think she's HORRIBLE live)

I actually admire Ayu for having gotten so damn famous. From the beginning she was.. err.. well, she wasn't what she is today. She must have fought HARD (in one way or another)

Her duet with Gackt was cute, but I personally think Gackt was the one that made that worth watching (listening to).

Still though.. her voice is cool, and she's really good looking!

Ayu supposedly not only had the double eyelid surgery, but facial structure surgery as well. Apparently she had to fix her teeth and nose, and I've even heard rumors of her having work done on her cheekbones.

I bought one ayu album (rainbow) and I'm pretty sure it's all I'll ever buy. I'm more about Hikki.

and personaly... i dont' think there's anything wrong with plastic sergory... to SOME extent.. Michelle Jackson's just going too far.. and so's Pamler anderson...

Well said, Furan! (especially about the plastic surgery) ... and also comparing Gackt with Ayu... yeah! Ayu IS like a female Gackt.. however, I'm not sure how to put my words, as not to anger any Gackt fans OR Ayu fans... However, Gackt can definitely sing live, Ayu most of the time CAN'T!

Actually, I've been impressed watching Ayu live. Especially with one performance of her song "M", I think she did really well. Unfortunately I don't have the video anymore.
Her voice has improved over the years. You can hear it when you listen to her old songs, and compare it with her newly released songs.

Way too many people say she is "female Gackt" or "Japanese Britney Spears"..
Can she just be her own person without everyone comparing her to other people?

She lipsynces more then t.A.T.u does and that's saying something. I love her songs "Still Alone" and "Dearest" but other then that I don't really like her too much, I don't HATE her but I don't love her either. I just kinda like her.
Sure she's pretty and has a fair enough voice but if you listen to her for too long her voice starts to grate on the ear. And I don't like Plastic Surgery. Everyone (unless they are born with a SERIOUS problem) is BORN beautiful just in their own way. Yes, sometimes people NEED to have work done just to get through the day but unless that's the case I don't like it. Everyone is born beautiful, I truly believe that. Even if the rest of the world can't see it every person is born beautiful.

ok... i tend not to comapre people, but i did then because there was peopel compareing and... yeah...

but... when you think about it... if you're gunna be compared to anyone... oth Britney Spears and Gackt are EXTREMLY popular and well known... so it's kinda a good thing in that sence...

Ayu looks like her eyes are allmost pulled into her ears. It's not natural, and it's not pretty.
I think plastic surgery is fooked upp(though sometimes nesescary, in extreme cases). I don't think I should comment on the music quality because I don't like this kind of music, so it wouldn't really be fair.
As for silent night, I honestly think they were both really terrible there, but I've heard Gackt sing well.

Yah, one can most definitely say Ayu's face isn't natural However, I think she's pretty still. I don't care that much wether she's had plastic surgery or not. I don't wanna have plastic surgery, and some who has had it look terrible, but for Ayu, I don't see a bad result. I'm not sure it's better that what she would have looked like it without it, but I don't think it's ugly as it is. I get more annoyed over her bad live singing, than her face.

Ayu some time ago... still japanese-looking, with dark hair and so, but she must've done something to get those eyes bigger... :? She has also lost (a lot of) weight.

And finally.. Ayu with HUGE eyes, and a much skinnier face (and frame), with blonde hair.

... however, I don't like that last pic of her... she can be waaay cuter. That pic is just scary. (O___O)

Wow, she was prettier before she got the work done! It was NATURAL beauty, what she has now is pretty, yes, but it doesn't look right. It just looks really odd. And her eyes are scaring me.

I, for one, don't even wear makeup. And having work done is way differnt them makeup because it's making a whole new Class difference (as if we needed it). In a couple of years you're gonna have the Perfects who've had work done since before birth (they can do that now) just 'cause their families are rich and so could not because they NEEDED it and then the Inperfects who don't have the money. It won't end with plastic surgery, genetic birth inhancments are the next stage and it will be a Ugenics War, I swear. The enhanced people will be able to get more work, get more money because frankly they WILL be smarter, stronger etc and those who can't will be pushed aside. And they won't like it. It'll be a mess because humans don't know when to stop. And woa, I just went on a rant there. Gomen nasai

I think that her eyes are really exaggerated in the third pic, especially by the way her eyeliner is done. But they are unusually BIG.

Yes, it's obvious she's had surgery on (at least) her eyes, and her eyelids are.. strange. but as I've said before, I don't really care... Let people do what they want, within reason. I certainly am not influenced by Ayu to do anything like plastic surgery.

I'm not about to get into a whole ethical debate here, but I do agree the genes of people (I mean, when they are zygotes or just forming ) shouldn't be altered for just superficial reasons. But I consider this to be different from plastic surgery..
