Can you be both, Nichiren and Shoga gakkai at the same time?

Do u mean being as Nichiren Buddhist and Soka Gakkai are somewhat different? No, there is no difference being a Soka Gakkai/SGI member and Nichiren buddhist. They are the same..Its just the name and form of the organization that varies..

I have been an SGI member off and on for many years but always had trouble connecting with anyone long-term. Now I live in Denver and most people seem very closed-off and conversations are not very deep at all. My district Leader barely speaks any English at all and is Korean. I don't speak any Korean and I'm feeling like giving up on SGI since there is no one for me to have meaningful conversations with any more...
