Sorry for all koreans and japanese but I do not like the small in particular in the morning when I get the milk fro the frigo...at 7 am as to preapare a good cappuccino with bread and marmnaleda or jam.
It is a puch in the face ....I also cannot eat vegetables and rice for breakfast.
well if I was born in Korea or Japan and have that kind of breakfast from a child age...but now it is too late

i've been meaning to try it, but i'm on atkins and it's not really low carb.
 
I consider kimichi like a medicine as it is very good for blood high preassure,
but taken every day.....
 
Well, the red stuff in it looks still relatively harmless, but the white stuff looks very nasty
 
I like this stuff more than my korean friend lol
 
aw, your korean friend must feel so put aside when you like a meal more than you like her/him!
 
hehe when we are eating at a korean restaurant, Hell yes!!! lol she is sitting there eating dumplings, and I am there eating kimchi, a traditional dish from her country and she can't stand the dish!
 
I like to sautﾃｩ the kimchi with jumbo shrimps and scallions (or chives), and throw a 窶忤ell-beaten窶 egg into the pan in the end. It takes less than 15 mins. No seasoning is required since kimchi already has a lot of flavors. The final product is called Super Kimchi Omelet avec les Crevettes from Hell. Dare to try? I made this thing up.

finally there is at least one food name i can recognise! well kimchi i think is pretty alright...one time i came back home from tuition and i was super hungry so a just grabbed like a tubb of that stuff n shoved it on a piece of bread n just shoved it down...i dont really like the garlic though

I love it. I used to fry mushrooms and then put the kimchi in the frying pan to warm it up together with mushrooms. Delicious, but hot as hell
 
I like it,, just bit wierd the first time i eat... i was also a bit shocked, a guy whom i lived with in australia had it in his fridge, and it looks ugly i think.... so i was like:

WHAA WHAT IS THAT<< IT SMELL BAD< YOU HAVE THIS IN YOUR FRIDGE FOR HOW LONG???? 5 DAYS??? YOU crazy.....

haha, but i geuss it should be like that....

i have been eating it a couple of times, and its not so bad,, but i think i just need to get used to it more..
 
Hated it as a child, and detest it as an adult. My parents still think that I was swapped at the hospital because they absolutely love it. After a full-course, steak dinner, my father will still go home to have a bowl of rice and kimchee because he says that no meal feels complete without it.
 
I still prefer Chinese-Korean made Kimchi, like a gift from God
 
How so? Spicy kimchi is the best! The spicier, the better!

I agree with you! Although I have never had homemade or restaurant made kimchi before , the one I did taste was spicy and spicy is good.

yeah - I like kimchi with rice (had it yesterday and today), but usually only when I'm sick. Otherwise the heat is just too much for me to handle, although Korean kimchi is just unbearable for me - I prefer the mild Japanese kimchi. My favorite nabe is kimchi-nabe....which I had about every week or so in winter to keep away the flu/colds. Works like a charm!!

Too bad it's so expensive in Japan...back in America it's so much cheaper.
 
I love Kimchi which is a good thing... since im in Korea. I still remember once living with a korean guy who made kimchi in his room, and he use to reek of garlic and kimchi. He was the sweetest guy though, so we didnt have the heart to say anything to him. Kimchi fridges are the best, our one is HUGE... so fancy and smell freeeee. Yes it does smell, and yes it does make you smell too, but its great! I love it fried in a little sesame oil, with mushrooms and onions and sliced tofu on the side mmmmmmmm. Dubu kimchi bokkum. Mmm and kimchi jjigae (soup) yum yum yum. Thailand made me sick and I cant eat spicy food for a while, which is just mean!
 
I had a feeling you would say that, Mr. Noname, sooner or later. But you picked the wrong audience here. If you go to JT, I you will fit in perfectly. With quite a few people like you there; you can all be happy together in your gokuraku-do. ;-)

Depends on the kimchi. The cheaper supermarket stuff is alright, till one gets to the botton of the tub, then the stuff takes on a overly vinigared taste. Kimchi found in a nice department store is a bit more expensive, but it's quite good. There is Kamogawa kimchi, and that's the best stuff I've had.

Kimchi in Udon and Nabe! Yeah!

Hakusai is best, followed by daikon, and lastly would be cucumber (not fond of that stuff). Other kimchi'd stuff I have not tried.
 
Take chinese cabbage, horseradish, garlic, green onion, ground red chile pepper, salt (shrimp paste for authenticity). Chop the veggies, mash the garlic, layer them in a large container sprinkled with salt and chile powder and seal it (double bag it with plastic bags to keep the smell in) and leave it in a cool place to sit. Stir it once a day. Taste it after several days have passed to see if the amount of sourness is to your liking. If it is, put it in your refrigerator to keep it at a slower rate of fermentation while you eat it
