Any DDR freaks out there?

here's a little pressie for all you ddr freaks ^^ i happened to stumble on this film of two jappernees girls doing a double DDR thing with a real dance and everything...

sounds like you havent got the codec...

it's an mpg codec, so try updating your windows media player to the latest version..

I can't play twisted's video, it d/l fine but then when I try to play it it uncounters a "unknown error"
 
So I am quite surprised that more people are into DDR and Para Para Paradise. I thought when my friends and I were playing, those people who do not know how to enjoy this game and appreciate them will say that we are crazy! For my side, DDR had become almost a weekly affair for us. :D
 
Oh, friend, I still need to work, how can I play daily. Last time I could because my friends worked near an arcade that has ddr machine and those days ddr is really popular. Now ddr is dying down and we are trying our means to bring back ddr.....
 
I work forty hours a week, and I still play daily. Sometimes at the arcade, but more aften at home. I have a modded PS2 with DDR Extreme and Beatmania IIDX w/ controller. A couple of friends of mine have metal dance pads. Another friend of mine has a projector. We usually keep the metal pads at the house with the projector. I bring my PS2, DDR Extreme, Beatmania IIDX and controller over, we get together, and we play DDR Extreme and Beatmania IIDX for an hour or two just about every day. It totally rocks!
 
I'd say it's about half luck and half "I spent way too much friggin' money!!" But I definitely enjoy it and will probably continue to spend more money... and more money... let's see, so far I nearly $600 invested in importing games alone. That was a pre-modded PS2 console, DDR Extreme, Evangelion 2, Beatmania IIDX, and a Beatmania IIDX controller... Japanese games are expensive!!

The DDR weekly I am talking about is gathering a group of friends to play DDR at the arcade! Of course I can say that I played DDR everyday as well if I include the sessions at home (PS2).
 
OK, I got ya. Almost every time I go to the arcade there are friends of mine there. Some weeks I go daily, some I don't. All I can really say is, I am a Bemani Addict. Keep playin' and have fun!!
 
So besides DDR, what other Konami music games are you playing now, Kuro Matsuri? Care to name them?
 
is popin music( or whatever its called) made by konami? The parapara game I played at the arcade in canada was made by konami, i think
 
Yes, suzu, "Para Para Paradise" and "Pop'n Music" are Bemani games.

I currently play DDR (obviously) and Beatmania IIDX. Those are the only ones that I have been able to save up for. There are no arcades in my area with Bemani games other than DDR. I want to play Pop'n Music, Drummania, Keyboardmania, Para Para Paradise, Guitar Freaks and maybe even Dance Maniax. Soon I will be going to Georgia Tech where I will have access to Drummania, Para Para Paradise, Guitar Freaks, and Beatmania. Unfortunately, I will not have access to Pop'n Music... which I really REALLY want to play...

A friend of mine at Georgia Tech is considering building a Pop'n Music controller. It'll be nice if he does. Unlimited Pop'n Music!! Woot!
 
Yeah. You can buy the round arcade buttons for around $5-10 a piece (or $25 a piece if you want them to light up) or you could make make-shift buttons out of tennis balls or something. It's kind of like building your own metal DDR pad.
 
Konami had already released its own original pop 'n music home controller. There is no requirement to build from scratch. The original controller is comfortable enough to play...
 
True, but it's smaller than the arcade controller. The buttons are much closer together. Also, I'm somewhat of a purist when it comes to Bemani games. On DDR, I always play with no speed mods, and I never touch the bar. On Beatmania IIDX, I never use speed mods, and I do my best to play with one hand on the keys and one hand on the turntable. I wouldn't want to shorten the distance I have to move when playing Pop'n Music.
 
Speed mods are fun, especially if you add Boost to Speed 1.5, it will increase the difficulty of the song and it will be more challlenging because your reaction must be faster than ever, this implies that you must know how to act and the correct timing once you see the arrows.

But if you say that if you want to make something close to the arcade, then for DDR, you have to get the metal dancing stage. Not practical at home, right? Need a lot of space to contain it and the pad is damn heavy and expensive, and the pad must have the safety handle behind for people to grab! If you want to play doubles, then one more is required! As for Para Para Paradise, no way you can build something exactly like arcade unless you buy the arcade machine!!!
 
The Para Para Paradise controller would be hard to build! 😌 But, they have a good, relatively inexpensive home controller for that. From what I hear, it's really friggin' close to as good as the arcade. Beatmania IIDX also has an excellent home controller, though it is a bit pricy. The thing is, though, there aren't any truly good home controllers for DDR, and the home controller for Pop'n Music is smaller than it should be. You can build a metal pad for DDR that's nearly exactly the same as the arcade for around $100.(minus the bar. It would cost more for that... and I never use it anyway :p ) Pop'n Music has an incredible arcade controller for PS2, but it's way too expensive. You can build one exactly like for about half the price, and even less if you don't care if the buttons light up when hit.

Crazy speed mods are fun on occasion. I just don't like it when someone plays a song with speed mods all the time, and they are incapable of passing the song without speed mods.

Apparantly, it is an incredible feat to pass Max 300 and MaxX Unlimited without touching the bar. Everyone seemed to be amazed when I pulled it off! :win:
