I found this ring in a box of my grandfather's stuff. The symbols appear to be kanji of some sort. Any ideas or input would be appreciated. Thanks

although the center bit does look like 田, it's hard to say that's exactly what we're looking at. The markings on the sides don't make sense...
 
Hmm I can see it, but at that orientation, as much space is afforded the left radical as the second kanji itself, and looks more like 亻 than 礻. And the way they created 女 looks like two X's stacked on each other... Could chalk it up to limitations in the jeweler's abilities, either in the language or technical ability to recreate the characters...

I wasn't sure if it was konji or not. I had an uncle that lived in Japan for few years and my gpa travelled there a couple times as well.
