American genius is to be found

I have a little question.

(a) American genius is to be found in both the arts and the sciences.
(b) American genius is to be found in both the art and the science.
(c) American genius is to be found in both arts and sciences.
(d) American genius is to be found in both art and science.

Which one would sound right?

Does "is to be found" here mean "can be found"?

They're effectively the same. Might be some slight nuance difference. The arts and the sciences seems to be more inclusive while in art and science isn't necessarily inclusive of all art and/or science. D can be inclusive though it would depend on context.
