Today I got another info mail from KLM(Dutch airplane company) with AMAZING promotions...lately flying is made a lot cheaper !!!

Wow, that makes me want to travel really bad but I don't believe these prices apply to any time of the year do they? True that it's cheap to travel, if you can choose when.
I still have to pay over a 1000 euros if I want to go back to France during the summer.

I tried Luftwansa and United I believe, and that's for July August if you get your ticket soon enough and for June then it will be around 700 euros...

Yeah, 700, that's more like it. Sounds like Lufthansa. Just for fun I looked for return flights Paris-Chicago in June at a German travel website. Found United flights below 500 (economy class), Alitalia & Northwest somewhat higher. Either it's more expensive in the US, or you should take a look at some online travel agency. You might save several hundred bucks.

Last time I travelled I went through a French website and got my ticket for about 700euros, the weird thing is that one way tickets are so much more expensive so each time I waste a ticket (since I usually stay more than one year). But I usually have to pay over a 1000 euros because it's in july and from Lyon to Eugene, Oregon so usually don't get any discounts. By the way does anyone know why do they sell one-way tickets since it's cheaper to buy a round trip?

I mostly fly with Lufthansa (as it is cheap). Once, I tried Cathay Pacific, which was very cheap too.

But my all-time favourite is still SAS (Scandinavian Airlines), but is very expensive. So I use SAS on my European flights, so I can collect SAS bonus points.

It's either that or people are tired of flying the with the possiblity that it might crash or that there is a 95% chance there going to get Strip searched to make sure they don't have "questionalbe material on them". :? ☝

yeah...but student reduction is like not much so the prices are somewhat representative ;-)

Hmmm... No, it probably was just intentionally done to bankrupt the airline companies. While low cost might be quite attractive for budget travellers, they might not be so good for airliners. Besides, cheaper tickets equal more travelers which equals crowded plane which equals unpleasant travel. Better buy the more expensive tickets. Doesn't necessary have to be business class or even first class, just expensive enough that there aren't so many people traveling with you.

I think that people are tired of being treated rudely in the airports, with all of those security checks (which makes no sense, considering I can easily bypass all of them if I wanted to), I do know that I don't like to do air travel anymore, especially after travelling many domestic flights in China (it's not limited to China though).

Personally, I think all of those security checks are intentionally done to bug the travellers, to make them feel upset (I predict more air rage incidents will occur).

I was so upset that I almost use Jesus' philosophy. They want my jacket to search? Fine! I give them my underwear while we're at it. Want to check my credentials? Fine! I accompany them to the nearest embassy while we're at it.

It's not a bad philosophy. Heck! They want to bug me, I will bug them back. But... Since it's considered to be a bad misconduct to some people to disrobe in a public area, I don't do it. I don't like the security check system, but I got to respect my fellow passengers. But heck, who knows? Maybe someday I might really flipped, then I stripped all of my clothes and walked the security checks naked.
