This is sad for two reasons.

1 is the fact that these are the only 2 ads from this poster, so this is more into blatant advertising than actually responding to people here.

2 being that a "souped up" car, even if simply riced with no internal modification is illegal to import to Canada. The car would have to be bone stock and respond to the country's reglementation to importing vehicles. Notably for Canada, especially in the case of juggernaut cars like the BNR32 , BCNR33 , and other Skylines, unless it explicitly passes Transport Canada's rules of conformity, you are only allowed to import them within the 1st year of release (i.e. super new) or 15+ years old. For Skyline fans, that means the first 1989 Skylines GT-R32 would be legal, but not the 1990+ ones (yet) and I think the 33 came out in 92 or later, but I forget since I only remembered the important bits.

If this user posts again, he/she/it better post a quality post to answer questions. Or else, I'd say axe the poster. Gratuitous advertising is a pain in the neck...

Yes, topi and its just that.. VERY RARE importing/exporting, is a tedious task and from the looks of someone waltzing onto a forum (obviously one that would have plenty money being an importer/exporter (not cheap)) and post useless posts, I for one would not trust him with my money.

I say give him a chance to back his statements up with facts, pictures, and a quality post on here. If not ban him, but until then I wouldnt give him any benefits, ESPECIALLY not my money.

Strangely enough, I would actually rather go to Fukuoka myself and visit a used car dealer. Because the one across from my fiance had 5 Skylines ranging in price from 6,000 US (a year ago) for a 92 GTS-Type M to 13,000 US for a GT-R R33.

There, I can say to them, fix the car up, let me test it, rip the mods out and export it.

This sounds shady.

Actually, I wouldn't even bother with that... My tastes have shifted from the Trueno to the Silvia; 95-up. I can buy a bone stock 240 SX here, order the Japanese engine with turbo/wiring harness/computer and even front clip to do a cool reverse sileighty and be satisfied that I spent a mere 5k.

I think that you may have misunderstood what I was trying to get across. Obviously, being from the UK, you have always had a lot of grey-market autos available to you. Now from what I understand, most imported cars are more or less factory recognised.

Here in the US, we only have a place called Motorex that imports Skylines, Silvias and other such cars. But they do it at $15-30k MORE than what you can find in Japan. They may say that they find the best vehicles they can, but you know, I can do that too.

So, what I was trying to say is that instead of going to a site through a dealer that lists everything as 'explosive power', you can go to Japan, find the car you like try it out and have ALL mods taken out and factory items restored and ship it home yourself.

As for the Silvia thing, here in the states it is a very popular thing to do a 240/Silvia front end and engine replacement as our models never came with the turbo engine, only a truck engine with a lot of tourque. It's a cheaper alternative to importing a right hand drive model.

Thankfully, the car makers have finally wised up and decided it's best not to put all of your muscle into pushing only one car in fears it would make other models sell better. I can only imagine what would have happened if we had the 240 as close to the Japanese counterpart, the Celica with the turbo and the 4WD or even, heaven forbid, the Skyline in it's prime.

Yea, it WAS very easy to import into the UK. They are gradually making it very hard now. No more R34 GTR will be getting into the country if done my importing if the current rules stand. The only way is to get a Japanese resident to move to England, and then decide to sell his car in England, or wangle it some how.
