Once again I screwed up n forgot my dictionary, so I was wondering if someone could translate 10 sents for me, I would really appreciate it!
1) gatsukou wa eiga kan no migi ni arimasu.
2) kare wa kanojiyo no mukai ni imasu.
3) tochigo kan no hidari ni nan desu ka.
4) yo ji ni okimashita.
5) gogo jiyuu ji ni nemashite.
6) kiyou no tenki wa suzushii desu ka.
7) Brown san no ushro ni dare desu ka.
8) Brown san no mae wa dare ga suwatsute imasu ka.
9) yuki ga futsute imashita.
10) anne ga zaa zaa furimasu.

Again I someone translated these it would really make my day cause I'm done for without them.

You've made several errors in reading the kana.

1. がっこう is gakkou, えいがかん is one word
2. かのじょ is kanojo
3. としょかん is toshokan
4. よじ is one word
5. じゅうじ is juuji
6. きょう is kyou
7. ushro is ushiro
8. すわって is suwatte
9. ふって is futte
10. あめ is ame.

You can find a dictionary online and do it yourself now that you have the proper form of the words. I sincerely hope that nobody comes along and actually does your homework for you (although someone generally does).

There are many excellent online dictionaries that you can use. WWWJDIC is one.

Why don't you try to translate the sentences first yourself and then we can give you some ideas on what you did right and wrong. But as Mike said it's ridiculous (and dishonest to yourself, your classmates and your teacher) to ask others to do your homework for you rather than just assist with questions.

help

guys, I have only been learning Japanese for a month, the characters are not very difficult for me because i learned them as a child, but the real problem comes in translation because as of this point in my course I have learned little or nothing about sentence structure and how particles work. I'm not tryin to get help because I'm lazy (I wouldn't have translated the hiragana if I was), I am asking for help because I need it, and cannot do it on my own. Thanks

So now you want us to believe the teacher/course is asking you to do tasks for which the material thus far has not prepared you?

At first it was because you didn't know the vocabulary; you said nothing about there being a problem of not knowing the grammar.

Show us your best attempt at doing what you can on your own and we'll be glad to help you. Helping involves doing something together. So far all you've done is ask us to do it for you.....not with you. That's not called helping; that's called cheating.

When you learned hiragana as a child, did you learn the difference between regular-sized つ and small っ ?

first off, the teacher is giving us work we are not prepared for because it is in preparation for going abroad in a bootcamp style fashion, not some laid back 10 month course. The reason I need this done for me as you put it, done for me, is because I'm as of right now supposed to be learning the characters, and the grammar is to come later, they want us to be able to know basic word and phrases, this sentence stuff is just to learn vocab, and so far we have learned nearly nothing, thus demonstrating the desperation I'm in and y i need someone to translate these.
p.s. As a child I do not recall learning the difference in character sizes, also instead of "arguing" with me could you just help a brother out. Also if I were in your situation I wouldn't even hesitate in this situation, and to prove it i will help you or anyone else in need of help in any subject, if we have to make a deal I could care less I just desperately need this done, thanks

At lease make a good faith effort then. You can use an online dictionary right? Look up the words, make your best guess at what the sentence means and then get back to us with it.

You could have done that already in the time you've been waiting to have someone do it for you.

I agree with everyone else.. what do you expect to learn if you just have someone else do the work for you? This sounds like homework and it sounds like you are looking for the easy way to get it done. Maybe I am making a hasty judgement here, but if this is how you are going to approach learning Japanese, I suggest you give up now.
So prove me wrong and give it a try.. these sentences are simple.. just by using an online dictionary and knowing the words you should be able to come up with a good guess on the meanings.

10) excuse me turn around (i have never heard of zaa zaa and have no idea whats going on in this one)

Well as some other have pointed out your first problem was not having the words properly written down in Roman letters. So I guess you made a good attempt. Why were you not able to get the questions copied down properly?
Anyhow here is one translation..

1. The school is to the right of the movie theater.
2. The boy will go to pick up his girlfriend. (This could be interpreted differently depending on context).
3. What is to the left of the library?
4. I got up at 4
5. I went to bed at 10.
6. Is the weather cool today?
7. Who is behind Mr. Brown?
8. Who is sitting in front of Mr. Brown?
9. It had been snowing.
10. It's pouring rain.

Now I hope you have some questions and think about this, and not just hand it in. BTW, i suggest you download a program to be able to read Japanese text on your computer. They are free and easy to get.

You misread "mukai in imasu" as "mukae ni ikimasu". Totally different.

first off my problem with getting the proper romaji is that although i know the symbols, i am not familiar with using them and special grammar cases like o to u etc.
secondly, nearly every Japanese language program i dl fails to wrk

If you're using Windows you can try installing the Japanese IME. I don't know if that requires you to use a keyboard with shift keys on it or not.

I'm interested in how you came to learn the kana as a child without learning any vocabulary or grammar along with them. That seems a bit unusual.

i learned the symbols very young in Chinese school, but when i moved, still a young child, there was no school in my district and therefore could not continue my learning, i.e. its grammatical uses

in my neighborhood there was only a Chinese school, but the lady that taught it was Japanese so it was integrated, so we learned both, which my parents we big proponents of because i have relatives in both places
