Is 高村規 a personal name? I recognise 高村 as a surname, but I'm not sure whether 規 is part of this or something to do with 写真事務所.

My translation:

"The sea is wide and big; the moon rises and the sun sinks, seeming to make the boats float on the sea to foreign lands."

a) What is the subject of うかばせて? Is it implied to be the rising of the moon and the setting of the sun?

b) Is いってみたいな = 行って + みたい (seeming) + な (emphasis)?

c) I'm assuming よそのくに = 余所の国, but is there a missing implied particle like に? I mean, does it mean "to foreign lands"?


3. I gather this is a well-known song, but I can't seem to find a very coherent translation anywhere:

a) What does ちいさい秋 refer to? Literal translations do not appear to make obvious sense.

b) What is the connection between だれかさんがみつけた and ちいさい秋? Does it mean だれかさんがちいさい秋をみつけた?

c) What does 手のなる refer to? Sound of clapping hands? Does 手のなる方へ mean that the blindfolded demons run towards the sound (if that's what it is)? Wouldn't they be more likely to run away?

d) Is there some implied verb of which 鬼さん is the subject and 手のなる方へ the target?

e) Do the last two lines mean "Listening carefully, I could just hear the whistle of the shrike calling"? Is this a brand new thought, or is it connected with what has gone before? (If it's all just impressionistic then fine, but I'm not confident I understand the overall structure and relations between the parts.)

Do you mean that the sea is as wide and big as the moon rising and the sun setting? That comparison sounds strange in English in the way that I have phrased it, but is that the general idea?

So, basically, the other children are "calling" to the hiding child by clapping their hands, enticing that child to come out? Is that correct?

Right. It says that the sea is so wide and big that the moon rises and the sun sets.

Yes, you seem to be confusing ～てみたい with ～たみたい.

No. The other children are calling to the blindfolded child. No one hides. I used "hide-and-seek" as an example to show what 鬼 means.
