Hi. Is the underlined とこ short for ところ? I have looked up the pattern 〜るところだった in my textbook and found that it means "something bad almost happened (but didn't)". But in this context the speaker just wanted 帆高 to go to the police station with the speaker. So why is 〜るとこだった used here when it doesn't mean what it is supposed to mean?
Thank you.
