「私から補足すると、今の時代に女子を接客のメインにさせて男受けを狙うと色々とうるさいんだ」

Hi. Why is 使役态 (させる) used in this sentence? Should the intended literal meaning be "let someone else make girl the main part of customer service"?

That's not a usual causative sentence. The non-causative version of that part is 女子を接客のメインにする.
The subject (the owner of the shop/restaurant, event sponsor, men in general, etc.) of する is not changed to the causee in the causative version 女子に接客のメインをさせる. I think させる is used just to give the forced nuance to it.
