ように思う

Came across this sentence in a message from a friend.
i am not quite sure how to translate it.
あなたは私を助けてくれるってるけど、\\\more text here/// ちゃんと答えてくれない。ように思う。 。。。。。
any one able to help me out?

From what I was taught, ように思う is simply a softer version of と思う, ie I think (you know how the Japanese tend to like to do such a thing, in order to avoid being too direct). Also another form, which is even softer, is ように思われる (this is often used in essays and papers)

Actually, I withdraw my answer... You know ~ you da, right? It is just a less direct way of saying that, "I think it's like ~"

It does not seem like (they) are going to answer (my) question...

In that case, I agree it sounds similar to "Mitai da." You ni omou depends greatly on where and how it is used. Any general explanation is a practically impossible request.
