Question もと

Hello Everybody! I just started learning Japanese and just got familiarized to Hiragana. I'm trying to use Romanji and online dictionaries and materials to learn new words every time I see a Hiragana on a movie, a game or an anime. Thing is, I watched the episode 961 of One Piece recently and tried to translate one of the character cards (the part where Izo and his brother first appear as children), since the show presents it in both its Kanji and Hiragana forms. This is the sentence:

もとはなゃなぎりゅういえもとのこ。

I probably understood it quite crudely (I'm assuming) and translated it as such: "Former flower-willow style expert's kid".

So, my query is the following: If I translated it correctly, I understood that the first もと that appears on the sentence means "former" or "used to be", but what about the second one just before の? Does it have an actual translation or is it a grammar thing? I couldn't figure it out and I wanted to know if its meaning changes anything. Also would apreciate corrections and pinpoints towards its correction, if I got it wrong.

There are two corrections.

1)
It's romaji, not romanji ("n" is unnecessary).

2)
It's はなやなぎりゅう, not はなゃなぎりゅう (や is the normal size one, not small one).
Hanayanagi is the name of a school (of dancing). This is a proper noun, so it's not translated like "flower-willow". (The meaning is indeed flower willow, though.)


Iemoto is a single word, meaning "the head of a school", thus, もとはなやなぎりゅういえもとのこ (元花柳流家元の子) means "child of a former head of Hanayanagi school".
