のようで vs のように

口から漏れた言葉もまるきり子どもの駄々のようで、僕はますます泣けてくる。

Hi. What is the difference between のようで and のように in this sentence? Does the のようで imply the speaker doesn't really think his words is 子どもの駄々?

で indicates the cause/reason there. It can't be replaced with に.

Thank you. I mistook this のようで for some a set pattern as in 一見やさしいようで、実際やってみると案外むずかしい。
