て at the end of these sentences

I bought a very nice textbook in Tokyo but it has certain things I've never seen before. It's my level so I don't have much difficulty in finding out what they mean, but I can't get my head around this:

• リー：ねえ、覚えてる？去年の４月、私が初めて日本へ来た時、山川さんに空港までむかえにきてもらったね。
• 山川：もちろん覚えてるよ。リーさん、こんなに大きなかばんを２つも持って。
• リー：そうそう。一人で運べないから、山川さんに手伝ってもらって。本当に助かった。

Why do the verbs in those sentences end in て? From the context, they're not commands, and they aren't joining anything (it seems).

The rest of the sentence, something like 大変そうだったよね and 運んでもらった respectively, is omitted since it's obvious from the context.

Ok, I understand. We have that kind of thing in Spanish, leaving sentences unfinished with an implied meaning, so it's easy to get. Thanks
