Please explain further.
Is 申 a lone kanji, or is it combined with the other hiragana?
If 申 is a lone kanji, then from JWPce it's translation seems to be "speaketh."
Which doesn't really make much sense to me in this sentence.
Translating the kana into romaji equivilents:
nangi to 申shimasu.
