うかがえる (伺える or 窺える)

Hello,

I encountered …様子が伺える and I'd like to ask if that is the correct kanji for うかがえる. It seems to be common to write it this way even though none of the definitions for 伺う fit. Is this just a common mistake people make? (here are some examples to illustrate what I'm talking about)

In such cases, does うかがえる show 自発 , or 可能? I'm asking because I also encountered …ようにうかがえる. I'm thinking that this usage makes 可能 impossible, but I'm not sure.

窺う is correct, but the confusion would be from a fact that 伺う and 窺う are the same in the etymology, and 窺う is not in Joyo list.

For example, in these next sentences, it seems like it shows 自発. Because I associate うかがえる with 見える.
このことより贅を尽くした城内の様子が伺える。
歴代の岐阜城主の家臣団を再結集した様子が伺える。
また、領地の拡大や知行制の浸透に伴い、これらの制度も変遷を行った様子が伺える。
日本製品や日本料理のイメージは非常に良いが、価格の高さがネックとなっている様子が伺える。

Regarding …ようにうかがえる, I don't remember the sentence exactly, but it seemed to have a similar meaning to …ように見える. That's why I think it was 自発 for sure.
