Translation please of WWII Yosegaki Hinomaru and Nobori

Greetings! I am a student of history for over 50 years. As such, I have collected a few historical items. I may be wrong but I believe I have an authentic Yosegaki Hinamaru flag and a Nobori banner. Of course, the writing is pre-1945 Japanese and will require someone with knowledge of kanji of that era. There is always the chance that one or both may be fakes, so tell me what you think.

The flag should be mostly signatures, but if someone could translate the patriotic messages and the soldier's name I would be very appreciative. Of course, I will be happy to post close-up pictures of any area of the flag you require.

The Nobori is not quite as "busy", and once again I would like to know the message and name of the soldier.

The name of the soldier who was given the flag, 足立三二[Adachi Mitsuji], is written on the right end of the flag.

The line next to it is 祈武運長久[Inoru Buunchōkyū] "May God prosper your arms". The same phrase is also written on the upper center.

The phrase on the upper right corner is 滅私奉公[Messhihōkō] "Sacrifice yourself for the nation".

A line in the lower right 凝為萬朶櫻 is a bit interesting. This verse is quoted from a poem 正氣の歌[Seiki no Uta] composed by 藤田東湖[Fujita Tōko] in Edo period , but it should be 發爲萬朶櫻, i.e., the first kanji is wrong. Probably the writer confused it with another verse 凝爲百錬鐵 in the same poem. Anyway, the correct verse 發爲萬朶櫻[Hasshite wa banda no sakura to naru] means "(The fundamental atmosphere filled in Japan) is sprouted as full bloom of cherry blossoms whose weight could bend the branch".

It seems there is another phrase in the lower center.

The rests are all the names of the givers.


The one written on the nobori banner is 祝 立石支部[Shuku Tateishi shibu] "Congratulations Tateishi Chapter/Branch (of an organization)". Tateishi is the name of a region. There are several regions of the same name, but it would probably refer to the one in Tokyo.

Thank you SO much, Toritoribe! This is much more than I expected, and so fast! Having studied history for so long I consider the experiences of the common soldier caught up in the conflagrations created by Emperors, Presidents, and Fuhrers. The chapter/branch would be the giver of the nobori. I don't know what it was given for, though.
