I have an original copy of the book Ninin Heishi from Meiji 28 (1895), and before the bookworms destroy it, I would like to submit it in electronic form here. I aplogize in advance, for it is only in Japanese, and I do not have the time nor the inclination to translate it. But if you can read Japanese, enjoy the ride!
(Yes, I have a bit of free time on my hands right now!)

It's what I think you call a "hard-boiled" novel. I doubt it would be worth of anything monetarily. But it's enormously interesting from a linguistic/cultural aspect!

National Diet Library offers tons of digital archives, copy-right free materials mainly in the Meiji, and they have about 127,000 books now.

It is quite interesting to read the eikaiwa materials in the Meiji.
