Anyone able to translate this flag?

Found this cleaning out my grandpas house. He served in the pacific/Philippines during ww2 and brought this home. I know there were fake flags made and sold to servicemen, trying to figure out if this is real or fake.

Hi Battleboy, sorry to say it is a fake flag. This is very typical of fake flags made and sold to US servicemen who were stationed in the Far East in the 40s and 50s. The red disc is far too big. The writing is nonsense (but looks like it was written by someone who might have known the basics of writing kanji).

Thank you. I figured the dimensions were off. I guess he ended up bringing home a Seabee special.
