Can anyone help me understand the writing in this wood scabbard please. I can see a date and think it says showa ?? 3rd month 17th day. But that is the limit of my ability. Thanks in advance

Quick question, is there a mei on the sword? The scabbard says there is a mei on the sword, and I'd like to take a look at the mei before I do the rest of it. You can send to me on PM if you don't want to make it visible to all.
Edit: actually, it might say 無銘 (mumei, unsigned). Anyway, let me know if there is anything written on the tang.

Thanks for asking. It is a yari (spear), I think some of the tang was cut off some time ago. It does appear that there is a mei but it is so worn I can only see the first couple of kanji, there was more but very hard to see.. at least for me

末永前 Suenaga Susumu
黒木囗猛 Kuroki ? Takeshi
Presumably these are the names of the two who offered the item. I can't make the character after "Kuroki"
