MEXT Scholarship (Research/Graduate students) 2018

It's 14th Nov ! Any Update from any country ? or anyone's Supervisor ? :emoji_anguished::emoji_anguished::emoji_anguished::emoji_anguished::emoji_anguished:
 
I'm friends with the lady at the embassy and she says there's no way it'll be before December.
However, I did get emails from my supervisors at Waseda and UTokyo saying that they are excited and waiting for me (I was really surprised about that...).

Just don't think about it, books, video games, study Japanese or anything else really. I'm working on my research anyway so I have a head start if/when I get there (I won't lie, I'm also best friends with my PS4...).

Did you mail to your supervisor or they just mailed you ? :emoji_astonished:

Hello everyone. I'm from Tunisia and also just waiting for a reply for the second screening. I applied to Todai, TokyoTech and Waseda and I got the LOAs. My embassy said I will get a decision in January or February, though. Did they not tell you the same?

Hi, i'm from the Philippines and based on the letter given when I got my recommendation from the embassy it was stated the result will probably be in December. The key word is 'probably' so lets just patiently wait. :)

Hi There... . I´m new in the forum. Hopefully I will be applying for the MEXT program next april from Spain (Via Embassy). I´ve reading most of threads, thanks u so much for all the effort you guys put in sharing your experiences.

I´m in the process of researching about posible universities and prof.(s) but first I find myself with a few questions: I majored in English Studies and did a Master in pedagogy. I have some ideas on what I would like to research in Japan but searching for universities with english programs related to my field has been really difficult as to the quantity . I recently took the N5 test and succeeded but still is too basic to search for japanese based programs (never crossed my mind)
Until now I´ve found 2 national universities and 4 private . The main question is: what are my chances of being selected in a private univ. if a put it in my 1 preference? and the second one is, since I have already a master which was a requirement in order to practise my major in Spain, is it advisable to apply for a master program ? Do you know of someone who is doing a second master under Mext?I would love to do so since the options are quite interesting.

Yes It was my first preference university for research, I had choosen UEC, because of the good relationship I am building with my supervisor, He is very nice person, always willing to help. My decision was mainly based on the way he is. I am from Africa by the way, ANGOLA.
