Dear valued Members,

in order to give JREF a more modern and user-friendly look we have been working on updating our current style. Xenith II which has been in use now for over two years will be replaced by a "materialised" version, Xenith III. "Material" refers to Google's material design concept:

So far, we have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from our beta testers. It's worth pointing out that the layout and the technical features/functions of the forum and all other modules will remain identical to Xenith II. The change is mainly cosmetic and characterised by a shift from red to blue and by the usage of strong "material" accent colours.

Xenith III will become the new default style on June 24, but you can already familiarise yourself by selecting it in the style chooser located in the footer of each page. You will still be able to use Xenith II for a while, but it will eventually be phased out and removed.

Feedback:

We are looking forward to your feedback on
  • design
  • usability/user-friendliness and
  • compatibility across all sorts of devices (desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones), operating systems (Win, Mac, Linux, Android, iOS, etc) and browsers (Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera, Microsoft Edge)

Outlook:

After almost four years of development Xenforo will release a new version of their software later in 2017. XF2 will be based on a complete rewrite of code. We do not expect to upgrade JREF before the summer of 2018, as a lot of modules, add-ons and styles will have to be rewritten as well. Once we upgrade to XF2 we shall switch to a fully material theme. More on that in the future.

Thank you, we are looking forward to your feedback! :)

We have now officially switched to Xenith III. Note that this is still a work in progress, so certain details and aspects are still subject to change.

We shall keep Xenith II available in the style chooser for a short while, but will eventually phase it out.

Please post any feedback and suggestions right here. Thank you! :)

Wow! I really like the new color scheme. Haven't tried anything new yet, but overall, this improvement is nice on the eyes .

Thank you, I'm glad you like it! It's definitely more colourful than before; and gradients have made a bold return, though horizontal (on forum index).
