actually i am confused because i wanna study MBA but my major study t bachelor degree is Computer information systems and minor is business administration , so i am in between of computer science and an MBA what subject should i choose ?!!!

I'm assuming you are talking about the research proposal? I'm sorry that is something you need to figure out on your own. Please see the link I have shared in my previous post. There is a very informative post on that blog about this section.

Well I contacted a few professors and told them about my research idea , none of them has replied to me till now. I didnt ask for LOA straightaway but mailed them about my idea asking them if they I am applicable to research under them. In how many days after mailing research idea do you usually hear from a professor

Its golden week right now. They have holidays for a week. Dont expect them to reply now.
It depends on the professor, some reply really fast , some dont bother replying at all. Try emailing them early in the morning (Japan time) and keep your email brief and show interest in their research too.
Its not about your research, its about theirs too.
Send one mail and wait. If they dont reply within a week send a follow up email.
Worst case you can contact the university/graduate school and ask them to get you in touch with the professor. But most schools will tell you to contact them AFTER you have passed the preliminary selection at the embassy.
Keep looking for more professors.

Oh I didn't knew that. I was contacting them because my research is a bit different from traditional mechanical engineering projects. But I will take your advice and mail them after preliminary rounds

Thats also an option but I suggest keep trying. You might not have enough time after you pass the preliminary stage.
I know its confusing.

Well I understand that because even passing these stages if no university or professor wants me in .I don't get the scholarship.
I have a doubt though. They are asking to submit all the forms by 18 May which includes placement preference form. I don't know what three universities to fill in .@indojindesu

You have emailed a couple of professors, right? You can put their names on the form and if asked you can say you have sent an email to them and that you are interested in these labs.
You can change your preferences later when you actually apply for the LoA.

Ah, so I've run into a roadblock (one of many, I'm sure). Looking for your advice!
I am proposing to do fieldwork research in Nagoya, but there aren't many advisors there who are confident that they can advise me thesis-wise (it's Golden Week so I may hear more after the break). However, Waseda has more a potential advisor who can advise my research thesis. I was originally going to have Nagoya as my first choice because of location, but travel wouldn't be too much of a problem. I have Nagoya, Waseda, and Doshisha as my three choices.
My question is: in my research proposal, which states I will do fieldwork in Nagoya, should I write something along the lines "If placed at Waseda, Professor so-and-so will advise and will travel for fieldwork... (once I get their solid yes)" and "If placed at Doshishia, etc etc..."? What are your thoughts?

I think white. When I had to submit photographs for study abroad, white was the color suggested. I think that is the safest bet, but please double check.

Hey peeps! I'm kinda torn and I i'd love your input. I'm applying this year. I'll finish a BA in Japanese Studies this july, and my GPA is fine. I'm working on a research proposal and I want to research a part of Japanese society that isn't sexy (disability). I'm a bit torn between going with what I know (and I know it well, I wrote many papers on the subject) or just go with something more mainstream....What do you think?

Hm... I am not sure, because I lean toward sticking with it especially if you have proven research in the field and have a passion for it. Are there any professors at universities who are researching disability? You could read their work/research and see if you can latch onto that in your research plan? Really paint it in a positive light, if you do go after this.
I have a weird question that the person writing my recommendation letter asked... It looks like they are accepting free format letters, so who should the recommendation letter be addressed to? Is it the Embassy proper? The MEXT Scholarship Committee?

Include a note with your form while submitting them explaining this. Or send an Email to the Embassy about this. If you get through to the interview you can explain it there as well.Hi! Go with what research/topic you like. Dont force yourself to create a mainstream research proposal.
Try and find professors who are researching this topic.

There are professors that research similar things at Ritsumeikan, Tokyo, Tsukuba and others so that's not a problem. Thank you for what you said, I'll go with what I know, it's interesting and important I'll just try to put a positive spin on it.
