There's plenty of demand. The problems for the OP are that she doesn't have the language skills (including literacy) to complete the training and even if she did she couldn't wrangle a working visa out of it. I'm under no delusions that she is actually a RN.

Mirrors my friend's experience in seeking an English speaking home health care worker. As soon as English was a requirement, there was nothing available.

Nobody wants to employ someone on the off chance that they'll find one or two clients.

@Mike Cash and @Glenski have both lived in Japan for many years. May I ask how many times you have been to Japan and for how long?

I know you are doing research online but the thing you need to watch out for is that there is a lot of personal opinions out there that might not match your own opinion of the place. There is a lot of old outdated info and also just plain incorrect info.

I would highly suggest that you try taking a short trip to Japan before moving there to see if it really is the place that you think it is.

Yes I'm her mother and we're not trying to pretend we don't know each other, seriously? I was merely stating that my daughter gets paid well as a living doll nothing more. I'm her supervisor and sure we are new to this site but she only asked a question. You know I can accept all comments but make no mistake about it I'm too old for childish games.

Due to the high numbers of interested people, I had an obligation to warn those who gets too curious. It is ultimately your decision, but you are being warned. I advise to not perform any spirit communication rituals to connect with the spirits in the house, from our vehicle (Dodge Durango). I do not even recommend connecting with the spirits that were attached to our previous vehicle, a black Ford. We recently have a 2013 Equinox, but paranormal things has also happened in this vehicle. I advise you to not try and make a connection with the spirits or try and see if there are spirits in the vehicle. Here is the new vehicle:

It is highly dangerous, and those who have performed these rituals have gotten into serious trouble. They are ruined for life. It does unfortunately include the last paranormal investigating team we contacted. The most disturbing event was the death of Mark and Debbie, the two ghost hunters. Mark and Debbie were actually interested in the Dodge Durango vehicle. This was their demise. The family did not see none of the spirits from the vehicle during that time. They returned after they were dead. This is a major reason we are warning those ahead of time.

For a pair that have so many photos of themselves on the internet and who are attached at the hip like you two are, it certainly is interesting that there isn't a single photo of the two of you together.... Which one of you is real and which one is imaginary? Do you even know anymore?

In case anyone comes across this thread in the future, I'll share the bit I know about English speakers working in the home health care system in Japan.

They do not have many English speaking aides because they do not have much need. The one person I know who was hoping to find one was unable to contract through an agency in Tokyo despite trying very hard (native Japanese person, so the person knew how to ask and search), and eventually gave up because finding someone privately was more expensive than they were willing to afford.

When you're looking at 2-4 hours per day, five days a week, the expense adds up quickly. Services through NHI become very tempting since a lot of what a home health care worker does doesn't require a ton of verbal interaction. Granted, it's much, much better if there is verbal interaction, but in general is rather easy to communicate gesturally that it's time to take meds, or that one needs to use the bathroom. Most home health care workers have probably worked with patients with dementia who didn't understand them in the slightest. It doesn't impair their performance, it just makes it more difficult.

The real problems for employment are:

1) Not enough demand to sustain a career.

2) If one qualifies to do it they generally qualify to do things which pay a significant amount more.

I have a Health Care Management a Bachelor's of Science Degree and is currently working on my MBA (master's degree). I have 7 degrees and this will make my 8th one. The 2 guys I blocked because plainly stated ignorance is bliss.
I fully understand how the system works and we were just curious on how it would work if were to bring our relative along. However, after researching the internet we found the answers. Thanks again for your time.

It is a home care health job. We are registered nurses. I was wondering how would this work in our situation? Also would we need any reference or anything from our current employer/job?

I'm sorry, but it's just not all that 100% clear, and later posts were additionally confusing. AngelMoon's questions were all about her getting a job and wanting to know how to go about it, not about taking care of a relative at home (in Japan). The stuff about being a living doll didn't help to keep things on track.

Whenever I see claims like this, they usually end up being correspondence course "degrees", or something of even lesser quality. To boldly state the above is in a way deceitful, as if they were full bachelor degrees from brick & mortar institutions, accredited ones at that. Without further information, I'm not impressed, nor do I even understand why these degrees were even mentioned.
