I do have an unusual but sincere question.

I'm a video producer and I'm interested to work in the Japanese porn industry.

I would like to produce porn as a producer as well as a performer.

Somewhere else I read that as a foreigner it is not possible to work in the night club industry.

Is it allowed to work in in the porn industry?

I would guess much or Japan's porn would be tied to the criminal element such as Yakuza. I picture they would want total control of producing and an actor working with/for them would be like a trained animal expected to obey their commands with little say in anything going on. If you wanted to do something on your own , finding actors probably would involve reading and writing Japanese and being able to pay them well. You would also have to understand Japanese laws regarding what you can legally do or you would have the police to deal with. These are just some of my thoughts & opinions and maybe members here will have different ideas and info on the subject.

True, I read that the most famous japanese actor said, that there are many unpleasant people working in the porn industry.

If you wanted to do something on your own , finding actors probably would involve reading and writing Japanese and being able to pay them well.

I also agree, I thought that I might be able to find actors online or get in contact with actors at a set when I'm also an actor. But I would need the help translator anyway.

You would also have to understand Japanese laws regarding what you can legally do or you would have the police to deal with.

I have to wonder if you will get any/many replies here , LOL. Members might not want to admit they know anything about porn. A large majority of our members do not live in Japan. It's an interesting thread about a topic rarely discussed here. I have a law enforcement background(years ago) , so I look at it from a law enforcement point of view. I'm hoping this thread get some interesting replies and is not too taboo to discuss. Replies need to be kept low key and not too explicit or they will be censored , so anyone replying to this thread , please keep that in mind.

Lots of foreigners work in nightclubs, and there is a huge hostess industry where women from around the world work. It's often illegal, or the person has a general visa which they are able to use for that work.

Are you an attractive woman? Just e-mail a photo of yourself to one of the big studios. Are you an attractive guy who wants to make gay porn? E-mail a photo of yourself to one of the big studios. If you're young and attractive, there will always be lots of people happy to make money off of you.

What do you offer the industry that isn't already being done by tons of people already, who have the language and cultural experience?

What it would take for a foreigner with no language skills to get off an airplane and establish themselves in the porn industry in your home country?

I'm also a yoga teacher, so I could be teaching yoga in English as well in Japan.

I also have some money saved, so I can easily live in Japan for 3 years without having to work. I can use this time to learn the language and culture and maybe even find a girlfriend who wants to do porn with me.

I want to go to Japan because Japanese girls have always been the most attractive to me and out of reading and watching a lot about the Japanese culture I think that I would like most of the culture. The only thing I would really have a problem with is the long working hours, but I guess in porn and yoga this might be different.

Another thing I might not like is that the partner often times doesn't say what he thinks, if something is wrong. Is this also a problem for you?

Good question, here is an article of the most famous Japanese porn actor who says that there would be only 70 males on 10,000 female porn actor. Besides of that I have a defined body and I also want to get more muscles, but I'm not gonna do gay porn.

The porn actor said that 2015, so things might have changed, I think it's worth a try to go to Japan even if I don't get a job it gives me the chance to learn Japanese and find a Japanese girlfriend.

I'm planning to go to Osaka first cause I heard it would be liberal regarding sex compared to other parts in Japan.

Welcome to the forum. As with any foreign country, you can only live in Japan if the immigration office thinks you have a good enough reason. If you want to enter Japan via the work route, you'll need to persuade a Japanese company that you have the, er...credentials, to make it worth sponsoring your visa application as an, er... actor.

You're very welcome to hang out on our site, but I don't think that our members will be able to give you much advice.

It's not impossible, but it's not something you should aspire to.

It's 99.9999% likely that any attempt to achieve this would result in you being exploited and having a generally miserable time.

As a foreigner in Japan -- obviously, there is some degree of variance depending on your Japanese ability, your connections, etc. -- you will probably be at a disadvantage. I'm not sure why you'd want to subject yourself to a notoriously exploitative industry.

You can do better for yourself. Believe me.

(And sorry, this is second-hand, not first-hand information. I know people who do work in the porn industry, but I do not. There is very little demand for over-the-hill forty-something white dudes who barely crack 45 kg on a good day.)

If I were going to produce porn, I would make "Japanese" porn by recruiting Japanese men and women here, flying them to the U.S. and shooting the porn there.

A free trip to America would be a big hook, in fact, perhaps the only compensation. Then I can load that porn on the net with no mosaics and plenty of Japanese language titles and search terms.. Also, no dealing with Yakuza.

This might require being creative with compensation and tax laws, but I think if a foreigner wants in the Japanese porn industry, thinking outside the box is going to be a requirement.
