I know that you can say 今日は雨です
But I'm curious if you can say it otherwise.

that... doesn't make any senseThis is another way of saying it I believe but I could be wrong:
雨わ今日のそれ
This is another way of saying it I believe but I could be wrong:

Okay so what I did was individually find out the meaning of "rain" and "today" then just add wa before rain following today afterwards. I really don't know the answer but I just tried to figure out using the translator.
My sentence was more like "It will rain today".
It's good you pointed out it's incorrect though so I know I was wrong and I can look at what I need to improve on.
yiiiiiiikes.
your sentence made NO sense, aside from the words 雨 and 今日. Are you actually studying Japanese? You didn't even use the は particle...
I literally just started learning the japanese vocbulary. It hasnt said much about grammar lol
Give me more time to improve
You say you've been using Genki for a couple of weeks now. How far have you actually progressed in it? Be honest, now.
here's tip you can commit to memory: わ is not a particle. The particle is pronounced "wa," but ALWAYS written は. As with all things, there's a TL: DR historical reason to this.
Keep working on that grammar, you can't just translate words piecemeal and throw them together in the hopes they'll form a complete sentence
は particle starts from first chapter.. but the explanation is in 3rd chapter.haha yeah but I'm only at the part where you learn the 2nd vocabulary... not super far.
