コンピュータ用ゲームだ", but ... "ゲームはコンピュータ用の

I am trying to wrap myself around this:

I could say:
Half-Lifeはコンピュータ用ゲームだ。
...or...
これはコンピュータ用ゲームだ。

But if I have to make "ゲーム" the topic/subject, then how do I go about it?
Is this correct?
このゲームはコンピュータ用のだ。
(I realize I could just say "...wa kompyuuta you geemu da" but I would like to avoid repetition today)

Bonus question: I have noticed so far that 用 is used to show which platform the software is made for... That is so, right?
Can/should I use X用のゲーム, or should I say X用ゲーム? What is the difference? I've seen both used.

Usually パソコン is used instead of コンピューター.

このゲームはパソコン用のものだ。

If you want to stress the compatible bit, it can be

このゲームソフトはパソコンと互換性がある。

Better to put の after 用。sounds more natural in speech. Can be left out in written Japanese but written Japanese can leave out many particles.

パソコン用だ / PC用だ is another option.
When the game is reliesed for many platforms, 版[ban], meaning "edition", also can be used (e.g. PC版, ニンテンドー3DS版, PlayStation版, etc).

Just one question
In [このゲームはパソコン用のものだ], もの and の aren't interchangeable, are they? If we dropped the first の (after 用) snd changed もの for の... I am not insisting of course. Just trying to dig into it and understand. Are mono and no usually interchangeable (at least is some situations) at all?

In some cases they are, but with different nuances, and in some cases they aren't. The の after 用 here is the genitive particle, which expresses possession, and is not interchangeable with もの. The の you're thinking of is the indefinite pronoun version, like 高いのが好きだ or 大きいのをください. In that case, もの can be used.

Or you could say

このゲームはPC専用のゲームです or you could make it even simpler and say
このゲームはPCゲームです

I take it you are referring to this one: このゲームはパソコン用のものだ。 ? If so, then here is what I meant:

このゲームはパソコン用のものだ。 → このゲームはパソコン用ののだ。
But since you wouldn't say のの (even if you can), let's do it like this:
Morphling said the first の can be omitted in written speech:
このゲームはパソコン用のものだ → このゲームはパソコン用ものだ。So let's change the もの to の again:
↓
このゲームはパソコン用のだ。

Plausible? Weird but possible? Not correct at all?

の performs as のもの, thus, it must be パソコン用のだ or パソコン用のものだ. パソコン用ののだ and パソコン用ものだ are both wrong. (Unlike a general noun ゲーム, ～用 can't be directly attatched to pronouns もの or こと. の is always necessary.)
