Once day, a white woman was travelling in touristic plane. She was 50 years old sitting aside with a black man.

She was very annoyed for this situation so she called the stewardess, "do not you see the situation which you putting me in? you let me sit near to that black man and I do not want to sit near to disgusting person" woman said.
" calm down madam, all sits in this flight is full, but let me see if there one available for you" stewardess said.

After while the stewardess came back and said " I am sorry madam, as I told you there is not any sit available in this touristic room, so I talked to captin about your situation and he told me there is no other sits even in VIP room but only one sit in the first-class room" before the woman says anything the stewardess continue "our company did not used to allow any riding from touristic room to sit in first-class room but for this exceptional situation the captin has seen that it is not recommeded to sit near disgusting black man".

Then she turned to the black man and said " sir, may you please follow me to the first-class room? there is a sit for you"
All riders where supperised for this indirect punishment for insolent white woman.

WHY INSOLENCE ?!!!

How much do you charge for your English lessons?

Is the word "implausible" in your vocabulary?

Thank you, jeisan, for sharing the source.
I think I've read one of them before, but did not realise there are so many different versions over years.

The story looks to be a good lesson against the racism and discrimination but many tend to overlook the fact that the story itself could be another cause of discrimination and prejudice. I hope that people who read this thread also read the comments at the very end of the web page jeisan posted.

Mike, This is a grammar or vocabulary lesson. yeah I still have it

jeisan, I think your souse is distorted because everyone talks about what does he dislike. The Muslims are welcomed the other kind of divine religions. As underntide said, the story has racism notion.

underntide, Thank you for reply and realising the concept of the story

Mike, This is a grammar or vocabulary lesson. yeah I still have it

Then stop using it; the English in it is horrible.

Tell me.....what was the race of the stewardess and the pilot?

Man just take the concept of the story and concentrate of this lines .... " sorry for bad English, the bombarding and battle between Free army and president army in streets > I feel that I forget my English :(

when I have read it, I saw how much human being is trivial when they think racism or they are better than others.

I ask you again: What was the race of the stewardess and the pilot in this made-up story?

And please tell me on what airline the cabin crew has to ask the pilot about the availability of empty seats.

How would you like it if someone started a story about a Syrian who was disgusted to find himself sitting next to an Israeli on a plane, so he just blew up the airplane?

This story comes under "urban myths" I believe.

If you Google "urban myths" and go to a website like "Snopes.com" , there are so many similer stories , they have about 20 categories to pick from. These type stories have been around for years and the details get minor changes as they go around the world.

Yes, I know. I'm trying to hold his feet to the fire and make him see how ridiculous the story is and perhaps how irresponsible and insulting it is to perpetuate it.

I don't have very high hopes, though.

Yeah, You are right, and that one is deeply mutated parable from bible, which roots could be found in sumerian and akkadian myths

Red5, I'm afraid that you do not understand what I and other members are talking about at all.

You believe that the story you posted is against the prejudice, racism and discrimination, however, the truth is that the story you posted is not great, on the contrary the story can be quite offensive and insulting - opposite to what you wanted to say.

Please read the comments made about these 'great' stories at the bottom of the following page.

I think it was his intent to be offensive and insulting.

This story comes under "revenge"......

....the evil/bad person(prejudiced lady) get her come-up-pence for being in the wrong. That is the point of the story and you are not susposed to worry about the other little details ,LOL. Filed under ....read quickly and delete... when they come in the E-Mail.

Nope, i believe he posted this story because he liked the last part, I also liked the last part of it which is this :
We were created from "sperm"
our origin from "clay"
our best clothes from "worm"
out best food from "bee"
our end under "hole"

I didn't understand the story before i reread it again..so chill it Mike, you ruined the moment :D

I do not see that it had insulting or offensive way in speaking and you can see that from the end of story which it shows that we should be humble because of our creation origin. The problem of while and black people "master-slave" was common widely specially in America and Europe during WWI and WWII as I studied "English Literature Department".

I have read the story from someone has translated it in his facebook post and I liked the last section from it. I did not mean any specific country when the story mentioned the white and black people. The story ,in my opinion, gave indirect lesson of racism and called for brotherhood between all races either white or black.

How would you like it if someone started a story about a Syrian who was disgusted to find himself sitting next to an Israeli on a plane, so he just blew up the airplane?

Arab and Muslims do not have problem with any religious group like Christians or Jewish or even atheists but when it comes to colonization we have a different look, this look means freedom from this Israeli Zion Colonization. "you can imagine that one island of the Japan four islands was colonized, then you will have a freedom look for that island till to be freed. We have the exact freedom look to Palestine till to be freed".

Undrentide and Mike, I am sorry if I did not read your post well because of limit time I connect to web, so please tell me why is the story has "discrimination and prejudice" and "irresponsible and insulting" as you have said guys.

I ask you again: What was the race of the stewardess and the pilot in this made-up story?

They were white.

If they were white then your story is demeaning to blacks as well as insulting to whites.

What was the race of the person he was reseated next to?

Absolutely not. The woman in the story was demeaning to blacks and the woman in the story does NOT represent the Caucasian race; not one bit, thank you very much. If the woman represents anything, its racists in general of all genders, nationalities and races. The people in the story are simply reacting to her racism and their reaction is nothing to do with anyone's race.

The woman was punished for her racism. The choice of who to move was binary and based solely on HER behavior and racism. What you posit is like saying a policeman is the same as kidnapper for arresting a man for kidnapping! Its only logical in a very simplistic, childish form of logic.

And as for the story being made-up, even Snopes does not make that claim. It may seem unlikely, but that is the draw on many true stories. Nobody tells you a story about how they poured their cereal and ate it in the morning, just like every other morning.

There are people out there with the on-the-fly wit to pull something like this off. The core of the story may in fact be true, but as it traveled word of mouth, details got changed and the original story was lost, until someone finally posted the altered story on the net. Its entirely possible. Consider the story of the Trojan War. For centuries it was believed to be a complete fable. Then a city greatly resembling Troy was discovered about where it should it have been.

Personally I think all people in customer service positions should read this story, so that they can be prepared to pull this sort of switcharoo on rude individuals.

The story leaves out the absolutely key elements of the race of the stewardess and pilot for the simple reason that its purpose is to portray whites as racist.

To point out that the stewardess, pilot, and presumably the new seat partner were all white and NOT racists would be to defeat the teller's intent: to have the sole mention of "white" linked to "racist behavior".

So now we learn the poor helpless black man's tormentor was white....and the source of his salvation is the noblesse of other whites. He is presented as a quiescent pawn in his own life, to be shuffled about at the whim of whites, who have the power to decide what will be done with him.

It demeans the black passenger.

It may not have been strictly necessary to point out that the woman was white, that is true. But that does not mean her race was mentioned for purposes of being malicious. It is perfectly natural and expected to mention the race of the racist making a racist complaint, simply to enforce the fact that she is a racist. It would seem odd to say the other passenger was black but fail to mention the race of the racist. Everyone would immediate ask what her race was. In fact, it would be more demeaning to blacks NOT to also mention the race of the racist. And I have no doubt that if that was done, you would be complaining that it looks there is only one race in the world: black, and the rest of us are just normal!

Basically you are laying the whole foundation of your reasoning that any mention of race is racist. Therefore, just telling a story about a racist is racist if you mention race at all! Its crazy talk! Would you rather the story just say "a male passenger of one race and a female passenger of another race"? Probably not! Then you would complain that it was sexist against females and demeaning to males!

To point out that the stewardess, pilot, and presumably the new seat partner were all white and NOT racists would be to defeat the teller's intent: to have the sole mention of "white" linked to "racist behavior".

I cannot confirm nor deny the intent of the story teller and neither can you. It seems to be a popular foolish concept these days for people to think they can determine the intent of others, and it seems to come up a lot in law and its just insane. We don't know.

What we do know is that you and Red5 assume everyone else was white, and that is an indication of your own racialism, although no indication of race hate. In other words, its you two with a problem in your own heads.

Further, it may or may not have been the intent of the writer to take advantage of that rather common form of racialism in your head. In other words, the writer may have anticipated that you would assume everyone else was white. But guess what? Its still your own problem and in your own head, and you should correct it so as to not be led down the primrose path next time. Next time, assume everyone else is a mix of green and grey.

So now we learn the poor helpless black man's tormentor was white....and the source of his salvation is the noblesse of other whites.

You don't think the stewardess could have been black? You don't think a white person, in the history of segregation in America, ever demanded a black employee do something about their seating arrangements next a separate black person? And do you think a black person cannot be a pilot of an airplane? Well, I got some news for you!

Again the problem is your own racialism in your own head. Red5 fallaciously assumes they were white, and you foolishly follow along.

He is presented as a quiescent pawn in his own life, to be shuffled about at the whim of whites, who have the power to decide what will be done with him.

That is your own personal interpretation even if they were all white! I just see a man suddenly confronted with a b!tch and the shock has made him speechless. Meanwhile the professionals who deal with b!tches like that every day find a solution.

It demeans the black passenger.

Bullocks. The only one who did or said anything specifically because he was black was the racist individual who complained.

In short, none of these people represent any race no matter what race they are. They are a group of individuals, and if you extrapolate the story and make them all representatives of their race, then that is your own personal irrational foolishness to cherish!

Nice straw men.

Where did I assume they were white? A review of the thread will reveal I asked the person whose story it is THREE times what the race was. HE said they're white.

HE said they're white.

Yup. And you agreed without any objection.

You did not ask what race (s)he "thought" they were. You asked what race they were, when its quite obvious (s)he could not know, because its obviously not his/her personal story.

You have gone to great lengths to try and "prove" the intent of the story to be racist, demeaning and malicious, all based on the unprovable guess that all others were white. Despite the fact that even if true, its irrelevant, except in your own presumptive imaginings.

I say again: individuals do not represent their race. They never did. Yet here you are asking about the race of the stewardess and pilot, and extrapolating the story as being representative of race as well as the individuals in it. What is your explanation for that?

If we say that the stewardess was black then it is racism because it defend her race but she is a white and she does not like racism exactly if there are 2 brothers, one of them stole a bank but the other rebuked him why did he do such a thing.

The story is not specific about being racist. It just gives a point that we should be "humble". In this story, white and black was just an example, there are a lot of example that ask us to be humble like these examples:

- If you are rich, you do not have to look for the poor as they are less than you in rank ==> you should be humble.
- If you are a succeed man, you do not have to look for the looser as they are less than you in rank ==> you should be humble.
so the story it says that the whites should not look for the blacks as they are less than them in rank ==> they should be humble.
you can many stories but one goal.

"When I was young in school, the teacher gave us an example about one who was succeed man and how he was organizing his time, his subjects and his playing hours. Then he told us that he became number one on school. Such an example, the teacher wanted the students to try that student's success and get high marks at the end of the term. BUT after the end of the teacher speaking, a student asked the teacher, "what was his eyes color? what was his hair color? what was his name?
As a kind of questions, the teacher was shocked and sad for this silly, unrelated questions and out of the topic CONCEPT".

I think Mike like this student. I have mention that story above not for seeing the origin of the story but to take the concept or the hidden idea of this story, but he asks "What was the race of the stewardess and the pilot in this made-up story?
And please tell me on what airline the cabin crew has to ask the pilot about the availability of empty seats.
How would you like it if someone started a story about a Syrian who was disgusted to find himself sitting next to an Israeli on a plane, so he just blew up the airplane? "

I agree with you exactly. You can apply that if there is a family has 40 members in their relatives. One of them stole a money and became thief, so we can not say that all the members of that family are thieves.
