Me too, I think I'm going to Todai. Did they tell you that we could be placed in Jasso dorm or University dorm. I want to be placed at University dorm, but the staff said, "most" of the mext students are placed at one of the Jasso dorms. T_T

No, they told me only about JASSO dormitories.

I've contacted the Japanese Embassy in Iraq yesterday and they don't have any information about such notice. However, they said that they will investigate the matter
In addition to that I've just sent an email message to my professor asking him about any information he has
I'm waiting for this letter desperately in order to process my resignation from current job

The only information I had about my acceptance until now is a telephone call from the Japanese Embassy in Iraq
This thing is not really satisfying as I want to be 100% sure that I'm accepted in order to start packing, by having a stamped official letter from MEXT...

I also got that email in Dec, but my friends said that the one they received this Feb is the official placement because their campus' international office said that mext had already contacted them. One is from Toudai, one from Hitotsubashi.

Now I'm just like you guys, still waiting for the official notice from Hiroshima Univ and Japan embassy, as there is no email about the placement from my professor.

I am going to Hiroshima Unicersity IDEC to be specific.

I got a phone call back early December from the embassy saying I passed 2nd screeing and email from Hiroshima University a week later saying they have my name on a list from MEXT.

do u think this is enough confirmation or should I wait for some more?

in the application, I filled "I would like to go in April but October would be ok" do u guys think I will go in april or october?

is there any confirmation of the amount received each month 152000 yen? or is it gonna be changed?

No, it will be 150 000 yen.

Last few years the final notice from MEXT came on February 20, so we should expect it around that time again.

Anyway have you contacted your professor about the dorm?
I heard from a senior that there is some chance we won't get a place at the dorm. My prof said that the faculty office will take care of the dorm, but I'm kinda worried

This is what the Prof has just emailed me about the steps that will take place this month:

(1) MEXT sends to the University of Fukui an official document
asking whether or not the university truly becomes the receiving
university of the candidate Mr. Ahmed Yarub.
(2) University of Fukui sends an official letter stating that it
accepts Mr. Armed Yarub as a MEXT scholarship student.
(3) MEXT sends an official letter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
stating that MEXT has selected Mr. Armed Yarub as a MEXT scholarship
student.
(4) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs sends the official letter to
the corresponding embassy.
(5) The embassy presents the official letter of acceptance to the
candidate.

He said that I'm at step 3 now :-D

my professor contacted me, actually IDEC did 1st saying I got accepted and then got in touch with my supervisor and we talked bout housing, he said he's gonna apply on my behalf but there is no guarantee that i ll get housing for sure, thus, there is a chance I need private appartment!! which I think would be a bit hard from day 1!

maybe we can be flatmate if we both end up without dorms! lol

tell me plz, are we waiting for more confirmation or this is basically it! we r confirmed, coz the way hiroshima U. talks to me is like if im in for sure!

also I would appreciate ur answers to my original post!

For your question about the confirmation, I myself am not sure about this. I think we still have to wait for the official letter from our embassy. I hope the letter come soon!
For the dorms, I really wish that we both get it (I asked my prof to book the international house), since we only know very little about the life as a student in Hiroshima University. If you also applied for the International dorm, we might become next door neighbor ^^
Also I heard that MEXT students have the privilege of being in a kind of priority than ordinary students in getting a place at the dorm.

I guess if you only applied for Kyodai, and Kyodai already stated that they will accept you, then you won't have to worry about getting placed at other univ

Anyway, the only thing that we have to do is to wait for the official letter that will come this month. Is any of you going to Tohoku university ?

I have applied for I-House at Hiroshima University. I was initially contacted by IDEC and after that I was also told that my supervisor will apply on my behalf. I am sure they are aware of the fact that we cannot find an apartment right away, so I think it won't be a big problem for them to place you in the dorm.

I'm also going to Hiroshima. The student support at my department emailed me and told me that they already secured a room at the international dorm. I didn't expect that they would go ahead and do that, but I'm glad that they did. Hope to meet you in April Aleksander.

I have not received any email regarding the confirmation about the room yet. Actually, I had some minor problems as I was contacted by supervisor's assistant, IDEC and supervisor himself at the same time. All the emails contained different instructions and it was rather nerve-wracking at the beginning, but it all sorted out in the end.

Yeah, I am sure we will meet in April. Destiny2 and Mounir will be also with us at Hirodai. ^^

I am exactly in the same situation as you, no news from the embassy, I contacted my professors, still waiting for the e-mails, the majority of you guys already have been contacted, but for me, I don´t even know where am i going to study yet, and I am still working, I have to resign from my job! I need news, a sign!

same situation here! my HR heard the news that I am going to leave the company for study, so she came and asked me when i want to submit the resigning letter! but before i receive the official letter from MEXT, i dun want to take the risk by losing the job yet cannot go Japan in this coming April.. The professor already told me that I should start studying by 1st of April
He was contacted by MEXT
MEXT will send a letter to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which will forwarded to the Japanese Embassy in Iraq. Again, this letter will be sent to me.
The whole procedure should be done by 20th of February. However, I've submitted my resignation already...

I saw your reply. I also get assurance from my prof that I will be accepted and they have been communicating with MEXT. but as long as i din receive the official acceptance letter from MEXT and the university, i still feel insecure...

same insecure feeling, although I was assured by everybody that I'll be there before the 1st of April, still there's that 1% chance that I'll go on October, which is sooooooooooo bothering
