Meaning of よめさまの おる

Hello,

If possible please kindly help me with meaning of よめさまの おる in the following sentence:

むっつの やまを こえ ようやく さいごの やまを こえたとき よめさまの
おる はたの おとが ひびいて きこえて きた。

I have translated it as:

Crossed over six mountains and just about to cross the next mountain, sound of wife's weaving could be heard far away.

But I am not sure what よめさまのおる はたのおと. I assumed that maybe it is again noun はたのおと (sound of weaving) modified with よめさまのおる (wife's weave).

Another difficulty, if I omit おる like in the sentence below:

むっつの やまを こえ ようやく さいごの やまを こえたとき よめさまの
はたのおとが ひびいて きこえて きた。

Would it change the overall meaning ?

"and finally, after crossed the last mountain,"

The young man had already crossed the last mountain when he heard the sounds of weaving.

But I am not sure what よめさまのおる はたのおと. I assumed that maybe it is again noun はたのおと (sound of weaving) modified with よめさまのおる (wife's weave).

Right. よめさまのおる modifies はたのおと.

よめさまのおる はたのおと
(literally) "the sounds of the weaving machine that the wife is weaving/using"

No. The meaning is the same. よめさまの はたのおと is interpreted as よめさまのおる はたのおと quite naturally.(However, はた also means "cloth weaved by はた", so はたのおと could refer to "the sound of cloth". The author might want to make clear the meaning.)
