Hi,
会話練習のポイントは、各課の会話の機能に沿った練習をするための会話の枠組みを示すもので、会話を練習する際の手助けとなる。
This is another in a series of sentences that are a bit above my level but which I have from time to time been trying to pick through. I am not interested here in achieving an elegant English translation. I am mostly interested in understanding the overall sentence structure and how the different parts relate grammatically to one another, correctly linking subjects with verbs, and that kind of thing.
This is what I have for this sentence:
会話練習のポイントは、 = Regarding the conversation practice points,
会話の枠組みを示すもので = (the conversation practice points) are (で) things (もの) that illustrate (示す) the framework of the conversation
各課の会話の機能に沿った練習をするための = for the purpose of (ための) practising in accordance with the function of the conversation in each lesson
会話を練習する際の手助けとなる。 = (and the conversation practice points) constitute (となる) help on occasions when one is practising conversation.
Is this anywhere close to correct?
