Hey Guys, I've found a couple of very partial transcripts for Pimsleur Japanese. It seems that many people begin transcribing the series and then give up before too long. I think it really just ends up being way too much work for one person. I know, I've tried. So, I was thinking that if interested people wanted to form a group, we could probably get it transcribed much more easily. It's also much more efficient to have a single person transcribe a single unit once, rather than having ten people all creating duplicate transcripts of the same unit.
For studying purposes, ideally, each unit would be transcribed in English, Romaji, Hiragana/Katakana, and Hiragana/Katakana/Kanji. If we can get that far, I can create flashcards for the material. (I can make some really good flashcards using MemoryLifter, and eventually add audio, too.)
If it were allowed by the mods on this board, we could work on the transcripts here, having the more knowledgeable members correct our errors. If that doesn't work, which it might not due to copyright issues, then we could try doing it on Lang-8. In the latter case, we could even pair up with Japanese students trying to translate the English for Japanese speakers version.
