How about some depth in your post? You post a lot of threads like this with just polls in it and a simple question. But how about telling us a bit more ...? Quality posting please think about it.

I had a couple of years that my grades were really bad, then a couple of years later I changed schools, because at that time the system my school was using wasn't really working for me (Montessori) and I actually needed someone or something to push me a bit more, and I got one of the best grades in the whole school (not that their were so many students though...)

I started with my new study since last September and depending on the subject I get 6 to 9's.

I was what is known here as a swot. I was top of my class in everything except P.E. and got the best GCSE results in my school.

Until my third year in junior high school, I was always a top student, i.e. always one of the first 2 on my class (and mostly first), if not on all classes of the same level in school. I never did much effort to get it, and most people considered me a genius. Then during my first year in high school, I started hating the whole system, and didn't care much about school anymore... classmates started calling me the "unlucky genius", i.e. the sort of person who explains the whole lesson to you just so you can get a better grade than him in the exam!!
I still had top grades (most of the time) in subjects like maths (though I was advised by some of my profs to pursue other fields like literature or biology)...

Anyway, screw grades and screw diplomas! I only learn things for the sake of learning and I do that by myself most of the time...

I achieved grades quite a lot above the average for people in my year at school after GCSE's were completed, however i choose "none of the above" as the grades i got varied massively (everything from a G to an A).

I am certain i would have achieved even better grades than i got at school if i had been bullied so badly though (it was worst in the senior school)- at first i was a good achiever, always doing my homework and scoring well in tests etc. But i was in a class where very few people tried hard in their subjects and so i quickly got singled out for being a teachers pet or geek (even though this totally wasn't my attitude).

I got bullied for other stuff in school too (mostly having spots back then), but after a while i deliberately stopped trying hard in my subjects in an effort to reduce the bullying & negative attention displayed towards me. But after a couple of years of trying all sorts of measures to try and make life better, i realised nothing worked (i was forced to go to a very bratty posh full-time boarding school, and at a school like that once you get judged you get judged & almost nothing will change people's opinions of you etc).
So in the last year of my GCSE's i went back to trying hard in my subjects, but i had neglected some so badly it was too late to score decently in some subjects. So i ended up "sacrificing" some subjects so i could put all my energies into others, and that is why i achieved such a varied range of grades.

Good or bad though, my GCSE's haven't really affected my life much at all. The bullying i experienced during my school days was terrible and back then ground me down into a very introverted person who had no confidence in themself and who was regularly severely depressed etc.
But after leaving school, after hitting rock bottom i decided to turn my life around dramatically and made a fresh start in life. I became a MUCH stronger person who didn't take s*** from anyone, and who was sociable and outgoing and who was true to themself etc. And things worked out great for me- my fresh start in life worked out great, i went to college and made loads of friends and i have never looked back since ^_^v .

So yeah, the grades i tried so hard to achieve were on average very good, but have affected my life the least. My experiences in school though were the worst, but in a way shaped me the most to be the person i am today. And i am very confident and outgoing & sociable person etc.

So its weird how life works out like that- sometimes its your experiences at school that affect your life the most rather than your education.

To be truthful I was an underachiever in my younger years in that I cared not for school and had no guidance, parental or otherwise. I barely made it out of high school and could not have passed college entrance exams if I tried.

It was not until I got to Japan with the US military and took a few courses in Japanese at an accredited university on base that I really applied myself. This helped in when I decided to stay in japan after my military service and attend university in Japan. These credits came in handy in getting me admitted without entrance exams.

In order to stay in Japan I had to keep my grades up. As I had a purpose this was quite easy and I finished with a 3.4 gpa.

Therefore, grades do not make the individual I believe. It is the individual who makes the grades, provided they have a purpose and a goal and want to do it. I had a goal and a purpose and therefore achieved.

I was an underachiever from about 5th to 8th grade, when i got to 9th grade, I was somewhat of an overachiever, now, from 10th grade up to now (I am going into my senior year) , I have been average, but i am trying very hard to break my bad habits and work harder, not just in school but real life.

I played Final Fantasy XI Online throughout high school. I would come home from school, log into my account, play until 7 AM, go to my first class of the day, and end up sleeping through my 5-7th period classes, then I would go home, and log into my account, and play until 7 AM the next day.

My fifth period class was American Literature, my sixth period class was Mythology, and my seventh period class was History. I graduated from my high school on time with a 3.0 GPA. It was a breeze. I suppose you could say I was average.

on primary school is everything ok...but with physics and chemistry I found out that I totally don't like it. So I was better in Czech and English or anything that had something to do with language...motherlanguage or not.

I envy your aptitude towards the maths, m'lady. There are still a huge mystery to me, and something I work vigorously to grasp.

I did a year of an English degree until I sorta realized I'd be reaping the benefits of unemployment by continuing with it.

yeah i guess you're right but still the school is important if you're looking forward to get a good job I see you have to pay to get in college
but we get college courses for free

This pretty much sums up my 8-12th grades. Classes were so easy but homework and projects were troublesome, so I didn't bother doing them.
