Dear blurcheryl, actually, I was just asking for the format of the Japanese paper. If the paper is like last year consist of only short paragraphs with one question for each paragraph.
Anyway, if you can't remember it, thanks all the same!
I called the embassy today, and they told me to ask the professor/ boss to make the 2 copies and put them in the envelope together with the original. ^^
So it seems like that the format of the Japanese paper is different from last year but similar to the years before the last year.
What!?
does it have gaps to fill with prepositions, verbs, and all that?
and does it have reading passages too?
The level of difficulty increases along the exam or you can choose which level you want to take?
Thank you very much and good luck to you all! in Argentina the dates of the exams are still not planned but I guess it will be mid-July.

In Poland, written exam and interview are in the same day. Interview is just ten minutes after japanese exam.>
Test on 1st, interview on 15th? Whoa, that's fast man. Anyways, all the best to you again. ;-)
>flidar,
You're welcome. I just hope that little info I provided will be of help. But I would say you need not worry much for the Japanese paper. I read the posts of previous batch saying that last year's paper was horribly difficult and you scored! So I believe you'll do the same this round.
And thanks for the info on interview questions. Now my problem is that I gotta think of ways to convince the panel that I'm keen on this scholarship. I'm not very experienced with interviews, you see. This will be the 3rd in my life![]()

Hey Guys,
Has anyone been called in for tests/interviews in North America yet? For Canada it's been almost two weeks since the deadline to submit the written documents and I haven't heard anything yet.....
Good luck to those around the world who are already doing the tests!!!![]()
Blurcheryl, actually, my passage reading skill is good so that's why I scored higher in the last year's Japanese paper than the years before. I'm awfully bad at the basic questions.
For the interview, in my opinion, I think you should not try to convince the panel that you are keen on the scholarship. Instead, I think there are two main aspects that you should convince the panel that you are keen on: the passion and enthusiasms to go to Japan and to study the proposal research plan that you have written. And one thing to add is that maybe to tell them that your research plan is related to your undergraduate study.
pout: blurcheryl already answered your question. It was similar to last year exam (2010), so I believe it was not too hard.
Good luck.
Usually, applicants are notified the week after the deadline has passed, e.g. deadline in Jordan was 19/5, I was notified about being accepted on 23/5.Hi everybody!!
How do I know my application was accepted??
:? :? sooo nervous !!
>
>ykk,
The paper which is similar to 2010' is the English paper (correction from flidar's post) while the Japanese paper is similar to years before last with respect to their formats (parts A, B and C combined). I wish I can explain more about the Japanese paper but I'm incapable of doing so because I'm just at beginner's level and I couldn't understand most of the questions. My vocabulary is next to zero and I had a tough time reading each question. Perhaps it's a better idea to wait for flidar's feedback once he's done sitting for the exam.
Hi pout! thanks for answering so quickly
The deadline in Morocco was 21/05 and now it's been a week and a half. Does it depend on when you've sent it? because I sent it on 20/05!! (They said that it's not important when it'll arrive, the most important thing is the date printed on the envelop). I can't think of being rejected since now?! :? :?
What should I do??
Just one little thing to clarify here! I know I'm stupid enough to post this in here, but I didn't apply for the "Research students" scholarship. I chose the "College of Technology" one instead?! (sorry I didn't mention it earlier :sorryI've looked through the Japanese Embassy's (in Morocco) website, and the section for Research Students says that the deadline was on 28/5, not 21. If that's the case, you should hear from them this week.
Oh! I just assumed that you've applied for the Research Student scholarship. :sorry:Just one little thing to clarify here! Shall I contact the embassy for more clarification?![]()
