Yeah yeah yeah, there's good and bad in each country.
But isn't it also true that much of our social character, as a group or alone, is actually a publicly processed product? The "good people" are what the society makes them. By "good", it means being considerate to others when there's no immediate personal benefit. The "bad people" are also what the society makes them. People are who they are because of national character formation. Otherwise, I don't know how one can explain why petty crimes occur so regularly in Vietnam? (Like another person was complaining about in the "Bad Vietnam" thread. Theft and mugging are definitely not my definition of "goodness".)

Social norms? opportunity? Can you blame the individual's actions on society? Sounds like it would make prosecution difficult. That aside, is there a particular reason you're picking on Vietnam? I was told to guard my possessions when I went to festivals in Japan, is that a reflection of Japan's society?

First of all I find generalisations like what you mentioned about Vietnam to be deplorable, in most countries there are some areas where people are not as well off so they do what they have to do to survive (besides I don't think Vietnam is all that bad anyway since I know people who have been there and had a brilliant time with absolutely no problems).
Society has an effect on character, but the individual makes the choice regardless of being taught right from wrong, just like in "high class society" there are totally scum yet in the most dangerous places in London there are some of the friendliest people I've ever known.

No, you have added **** all to the discussion, and did comment in order to create an image of yourself, in the minds of the readership, which you prefer.

You took Mikawa Ossan's comment and reworded it so as to convey obscene images which are NOT incidental to your comment, and they do not serve to offer an example or to better explain things either, as this has already been done by Mikawa Ossan's original comment. It is not obscenity used to provide an example, it is obscenity for the sake of conveying obscenity.

Additionally, Taiwanese people hardly function in a way akin to your anus. Your anal hygiene is nowhere near as complicated as the subtle issues of a culture, nation, society.

For all practical purposes, your comment was the reiteration of the comment written by Mikawa Ossan. It conveys no more information, if any, therefore the possibility of it having been written for the purpose of bringing additional information is excluded. At the end of the day, it appears that you have written it so you can talk about your arse.
