Hi everyone,
I'm MEXT 2009 fellowship. It's more than 3 months since I'm went to Japan but I felt like I didn't do anything. I felt very bad those days cause I had some failures since I came to Japan. I know that how hard I try to be here and I also had a lot of failures in the past but I hope that I will change after going to Japan. Unfortunately, I think that I didn't change a lot and more, I had failures.
I have my Entrance exam in September and it in Japanese. I would like to have someone in the same board to talk about it. We can exchange thinking and encourage each other.
By the way, I want to say thank you guys. Actually, when I applying for MEXT 2009 post graduate, I felt depressed, hopeless, anxious, so many feelings and through this website, I found so many friends in the same board. That once helped me a lot. I wonder how do you guys live those days? I hope that everyone is good.
I still very depressed now.

dont worry he hears

Dont worry, just contiue to waork hard. though things looks grim now beleive that God has a plan and he does see your struggle. When this is all over you'll be stronger because of it. I myself am going to college in about a month, ant i am the most nervous i've ever been. i want to study abroad in japan for a semester, i pray a way will be shown. college sounds a bity scary, and difficult but i have faith that we can both do well. Just believe in yourself and trust that thngs are going to work out. God wants to help and talk to you just ask him, its as easy as taliking to him. thank you :D if you'd like to talk some more, or would like to get to know him a bit better, just ask him he hears.
any questions , my email is mike13jcfx and its at aol.com.
God Bless!! and

Contrary to what lunar mike wrote, please don't rely on (a) god(s) for your problems.

Anyways, I'm not taking the entrance exams in Japanese, but I understand how you feel. It seems like my professor in rushing me. Since the first week in Japan, he has treated me as a Masters course student, even though I am actually just a research student. Also, I don't have experience that the masters course students have. So when our monthly research reports comes around... my report is quite short compared to the other students. Plus, my results up till now has rarely been good and I have done nothing significant. My undergraduate major is a bit different from what I am in now, so my knowledge of the field is not very good right now. So yeah, I feel a bit depressed to.

But hey, being depress and sulking about it will only slow you down. Please continue to work hard and move forward. It's okay to fall, just be sure to get back up and learn from your mistakes.

If you feel like you are not ready, you can always wait and try the entrance exam again next year. You have plenty of time I think. Make good use of it.

lcukyme, I hope you feel better bro. I don't mean to offend anyone by bringing God into my comment, i just really pray that you get back on your feet, and things have turned around ^^

Can you read? She says she is a 2009 entrant. It's her last chance next fall. Taking entrance exams in Japanese is hard. if you can take them in English do so.

My bad. Anyway I have always wondered how people other than Chinese and Koreans can pass entrance exams in Japanese.

Woh, long time passed since I posted this thread. I'm appreciated that there still people care about it.
Luckily, I passed the entrance exam though it quite hard. Half of people passed the 1st round which have English-Japanese translation and knowdle question however, 3 of 4 failed after 2nd round which interview about Research Plan. May be I was lucky caused I have my advisor review Research Plan in advance. Studying alone is quite lonely but I went through it with the help of my Japanese tutor. I really appreciate him for that. Unfortunately, the tutoring was over after the exam and since then I did not talk much with any japanese like that. Making friend in Japan is quite hard with me since everyone have their own interest and seem to be busy.
@lunar Mike: I happy to be friend with me. do you in Japan now?
@menrui: I read many of your reply last year but I forgot where and which Univ you are in Japan, sorry. Have your study go well?
At least within the people I know, lot of people passed the entrance exam in Japanese. The difficulty of the entrance exam depend on the Univ, the major you applied. However, I think 2 kyuu level of Japanese is necessary. For myself, even I am not good in Japanese as Korean or Chinese ones, I studied Japanese for over 6 years and passed 1 kyuu even with lower point 2 years before apply MEXT scholarship.
