This is just weird and wrong: the (anti-)NHK party are selling spaces on election billboards for candidates that have no intention of running, which can be used by advertisers.

In another problem, a poster displaying a sexually explicit image appeared on various billboards in Tokyo on the evening of 20 June. The Metropolitan Police Department issued a verbal warning to the candidate over the poster, which featured an apparent female supporter. Police said the image violated the metropolitan government's ordinance on prevention of disturbances by emphasizing nudity and promoting indecent language and behavior. The candidate told reporters, "I was asked by police to remove the posters promptly, and I will do so accordingly." The candidate also said, "I thought it was within the legal range" and "I believe that freedom of sexual expression should also be strongly guaranteed."

Let us just hope that more world politicians don't follow her example. No one would want to see Biden and Trump strip on TV during a debate after all. Could you see Xi Jinping, Kim Jong-Un, and Putin doing so, probably while in a sauna and riding a horse? The nightmares that would ensue!

Yesterday, I found these billboards in Minato-ku. The samurai is Onodera Koki, presumably a descendant of one of the "Chushingura," the 47 Ronin from Akko. He is running for the New Chushingura Gishi Party (忠臣蔵義士新党), which aims to spread the virtues of the 47 Ronin throughout Japan.

I don't know what the AI-generated campaign posters to the left mean. "Otsu Ayaka wants her money back, please."
