Awesome! What a great view, and I'm sure a worthy hike. Thank you for sharing these, this is a vantage point of Japan many people never get!
 
Hiking, I want to do it again. Had a hiking friend , but he passed away and I felt it was not a good idea to go into the forest myself.
 
After hiking, we enjoyed a hot sand bath at Ibusuki Beach. The sand is heated by hot volcanic groundwater. Ten minutes for 1000 yen. The people in yukata are lining up for their sand baths.

I like the beach as much as anyone, but a sand bath sounds like a contradiction in terms
