i am thinking about doing the omine san hike in nara, has anyone done it recently? i have the lonley planet guide book but i was wondering where i could find more detailed information about the bus schedules from the southern end of the hike at zenki guchi. also, how are the huts on the trail and do i need a tent and stove?

I stared at the subject line "omine san hike in nara" for a looooong time trying to figure out what a ひけ was.
 
My grandmother's name is "Mine", so of course I thought of the title as a really old lady hiking with her walking stick in Nara was on the news.
