Difference between “uchi" うち and “ie” いえ, Vocabulary 38

In Japanese, the Kanji for 家 means "home" or "house" and can be read as UCHI or IE 🏡

Many people wonder if these 2 ways of reading are interchangeable. In this video, we will see the difference between these 2 words and HOW and WHEN to use them correctly.

 
I didn't know おうち is childish. So I guess it would be more appropriate to say something like ご自宅はどこですか? or お住まいはどこですか?
Usually I use the latter.
 
Exactly 👍😘🤗 Anyway if you say おうちin a casual sentence talking with your family or friends, it's ok 👌 but お住まい,ご自宅are more appropriate and elegant 🤗
