Your first Japanese band?

omg

OMG! i dont even remember well! it was a hell of a long time ago! lolol
naw im kidding.i remember. it was Malice Mizer - Au Revor i beleive [cant spell i dont think] :sorry:
but that was the only song first - then i went right into Dir en grey ..first song Umbrella ! yey! KICK *** song man!!!

first band i listened to was L'Arc~en~Ciel... i used to read an impromanga online that listed "good morning hide" as the "opening theme" for the manga

couldn't find that song on mp3 initially so the first song i heard was "sell my soul"... and it all grew from there!

First japanese music I ever heard (besides anime themes) was probably Utada Hikaru a few years back. My japanese friend Marie was listening to her. I asked her if there were any japanese rock bands, and she mentioned Dir en grey, Malice Mizer, and The Pillows. Been listening ever since.

It was X-JAPAN, without counting the Anime Songs.

1993, January. B'z Mars was introduced to me by a friend and my musical tastes have never been the same. From there, I began listening to many different bands and performers, but B'z are my mainstay. Every album from them represents a different part of my life that I hold dear to me.

My first contact with jpop I had with aiko... I love sakurano toki

my first jpop band would have to be V6...I had heard "Change the World" but didn't know who they were..but then my friend introduced me to their music and I loved it...that was almost a year ago and since then I've fallen in love with jpop and jrock ^^..its soo awesome..I wish we could see more of it here in the U.S.

First person I started listening to was Aikawa, Nanase.

After that I found GLAY, L'arc en Ciel, and Hamasaki, Ayumi.

My first j pop band is SES. I love their music and songs.
I just wanted to make a quick comment here... in case you didn't know, SES is actually a Korean group originally. After having a pretty successful career there, they moved over into the J-Pop market... they did what BoA did, only earlier. I also liked how one of the members did a collaboration with V6.

So if you like their Japanese music, you should do a little 'Net searching and find their Korean stuff as well. "Dreams Come True" is one of the first K-Pop songs I ever heard...

Nice to meet you!

X japan... i found out about them when i picked up a random guitar tab which was weekend, and i thought wo this sounds cool. so i dloaded weekend, then bought the best of dvd.. that got me into X. and thats what got me into J-music

Dir en Grey was my first j-band. The first songs I heard were Drain Away, Yokan, and Cage. I just found out about them at the beginning of this year but I love them to death!

Two-Mix
first that i heard of and listened too
but i hear not of them anymore

Christ, why havent I posted in this yet...

My first band was a mix-recorded tape of a Saber Tiger session my brother smuggled out of Japan when he went with his old band sometime in the late 80's. I was like, 7 or something.

Been hooked more or less, ever since.

i only started to listen to j-music a year ago but got really into it. i was first introduced to j-pop bands like asian kung-fu generation and orange range. they were pretty good. then i found j-rock. the first j-rock song i've heard was Dir en Grey, and then i got into Gackt and Malice Mizer.

Holy bejeezus, I can't even remember! It might have been X, or Diru, or Janne da Arc, or Malice Mizer, or someone else....I started out listening to what ever Bob had, and I don't even remember what theat was.... :sorry:

Hey, didn't SES break up? I was told that by some one, I think... :?

Kotani Kinya was my first (excluding anime music) which then I branched out to Gackt, Hyde, L'Arc~en~Ciel, Dir en grey, hide, and Miyavi and Plastic Tree just a little bit, in that order. Or close to it anyway.

My first band was Iceman.....
It's Gravitation's fault...I only had to hear Shining Collection once then I was in love...but I don't like them much now. ^^;

First j-rock band was L'arc~en~Ciel but as for j-pop singer is was Hironobu Kageyama
