According to Oriental Zodiac/Chinese astrological calendar, Year 2010 (next year) is the year of Tiger. In general, Tiger means charm against evil. So I wish you all J-forumers a Happy New Year and all evils will be gone.

A Sea Lion is practicing writing "Tiger" in a zoo for next year. 🙂

Please see also the New Year Tradition thread in the "History and Traditions" section.

Akemashite omedetou! A great (I hope) new decade has begun that will help us forget the last putrid decade. It's fitting that it should start with the Year of the Tiger.

And a nice vid showing how you can make your own Japanese decoration for the Year of the Tiger.
