Last Saturday, Tottori Prefecture held a Yayoi look-alike contest, awarding a salesperson from Osaka whose face resembles one reconstructed from the DNA of a skull excavated at ruins from the Yayoi period. The Tottori Prefectural Government had received 215 submissions, and 10 finalists across the country were invited to the event on May 28.

RUN HIS DNA!

"I got a gold bust of my ancestor, for winning a lookalike contest for another bust of my ancestor."

Can you imagine being a runner-up? What do you tell YOUR children?

My wife always calls me a Neanderthal. I'd proudly display my Neanderthal bust.
