Some of you may have spotted a few of Xenforo's new features, but there's a lot more under the hood. I will use this thread to introduce a few improvements over our previous software.

User tagging
As explained here. It is also possible to tag users in comments and profile posts.

New text editor
The new editor is based on Redactor. It is simple, responsive, AND works for IE users, too.

One very convenient feature is the drag and drop picture upload. Just select any pictures on your PC and drop them into the text box (see below). The number of images you can select for upload depends on your user group.

Of course, you will still be able to upload images the traditional way. You can either append the full image or just a thumbnail.

Videos will be automatically parsed just by inserting the video link, without having to add any tags.

Your drafts will be auto-saved every 60 seconds.

New reply options
When replying to a post you no longer have to quote the entire post and/or edit it. Just highlight the part you want to respond to and right click it (see below).

The multi-quote feature is extremely useful if you want to reply to different posts in one post. Just toggle the Quote button at the bottom right, then select "Insert Quotes" in the text field, et voilà!

More to follow soon.

One feature I have not mentioned yet are

Private Conversations
aka PCs or "convos" in Xenforo Talk. They differ from PMs (Private Messages in vBulletin) insofar, as they are not just a simple exchange of messages, but more of a private thread between two or more participants who are not only able to invite others to their conversation (OP's privilege), but to edit/delete their messages and upload attachments and images (depending on their user group permissions).

Needless to say, admins and moderators are not able to monitor or access PCs unless the are PC starters or invited by other members.

In order to send or start a PC just click on a member's user name or on the letter symbol in the top menu.

Going to check my local bookstore for "Xenforo for Dummies" , I can see I'll need help , LOL.

This new option is REALLY EXTREMELY useful!!

I found a box to check off so I can see reported posts on my mail and I checked it. Going to report this post and see if I get the E-Mail , and then I'll delete it.

Is it possible to change the thread settings so that the newest message is displayed first?

In XF, there is no option to display the latest post first within a thread, at least not without an add-on. As far as I'm aware, none of the more common forum scripts support a reverse order of posts out of the box.

Generally, you can access the latest post in each thread/forum as pointed out below (on thread_list, forum_list, as well as on forum_home):

Thank you, Thomas!
